I figured that I had better get with it and post a bit. This is my latest venture. It is a shortened 28 or so Studebaker touring car that I was only able to identify with the help of other hambers.I am trying to build this car on a shoestring budget,as traditional as possable, and no parts from speedway. If I cant find it or make it It wont be on there. With all of this slap together rod craze going on everywhere I did'nt wan't mine to get lost in the sea of rats and gl*** but like I said "shoestring budget".It will have a SBC and radial tires but it will not have IFS,EFI or bags and it will drive like an old Rod minus the 4 link.
Your right,a little speedway would'nt hurt.Especially heim joints for the bones and steering arm that mounts onto the spindle.
Five years November, I learned what a rod is. Or at least found out what old cars are. Following January I had my first useless Flathead. And here I'm stuck on finding the parts that are 80 to 60 years old. Where did i go wrong?
Anything from Speedy Bill can hurt. Get your heim joints from a reputable catalog speed shop or industrial supplier of American made junk. Ok so much for my slam speedway for the month. I like the tub well enough by the way. A properly dressed small block will have the look.
What ever floats your boat, radials and sbc is not synonymous with Speedway Motors, they make a lot of parts for the style car you are building. Budget plays a part in all builds, some just have a unlimited bottom line but that's not the norm. HRP
