STILL waiting for my CKD.....

All the subscription issues were sent to Tower records. I got mine 2 weeks ago.

Hey, how about the Pin Up of what looks like a 70 year old betty in the Elvis suit? I don't see a future for this rag without a infusion of more layout and content talent.

This should be the strongest of all the new Hot Rod mags. The last two issues shows it ain't.

I'm a new subscriber and I'll say it like it is.

I enjoy CKD for what it is, but it is the worst magazine ever to grace my bathroom floor. Spelling errors on nearly every page, grammatical errors, 2 month delays in delivery, unprofessional service, no proper way to subscribe via credit card. In short, the company is run pretty poorly, but the content rocks. CKDeluxe get your***** together please. Posts like this happen nearly every time an issue is due. And don't tell me to start my own Mag. I'm paying for one, not interested in starting one.

Normally I see mine about two weeks after guys here start talking about getting theirs. But not this time. I still don't have it. Heck guys in Austrailia get theirs before I do and its ALOT farther away than Indiana. I've sent three emails and no responce. I really like the thing and the mis-spellings and little stuff don't bother me but dammit when I pay for something I expect to get it and in a timely fashion. I've already dropped one other car mag subscription cause they couldn't get the thing delivered on time. I'd buy one off the rack only to have mine show up a couple days latter. I'd hate to drop another sub but, my patience is running out. Come on guys, get your****** material together.

 

Dito: i have yet to get mine and sent an email, but so far no response. did they turn the lights out and forgot to tell us?.

Well, I got a response from Zombie at CKD today. I think I hit a nerve. He never adressed the issue of late or nonexistent magazines but he did call me names & use language that I can't (won't) use on this board. He also refered to the HAMB as a " little chat board" after I mentioned in an email to the CKD staff that there was a thread here about late/missing issues.

 

NOPE, Ain't got mine yet and at this rate I figure the "postperson" must be reading it! I started my subscription 5/6/2003 and have gotten 1 copy since then.

 

Maybe tomorrow I will put out a bale of hay for the horse drawn cart that my issue must be on...

I think the torch for the Olympics crosses the country faster.

The cow palace one I got caught up, or at Paso twice a year..... same price, not timely but big deal after all it is not time sensitive material ! Well I finally got my issue. Not only did I get one but they sent me two issues. Maybe I got someones that didn't get theres

WAH! "I haven't got my (insert whatever mag fits here ) yet! When did CKD devise a "schedeule" ? It's not a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly mag, it's a "sideline, something we do for fun so we'll get to it when we get to it" mag, so*****ing deal with it and quit your******in'!!

CKD devised a schedule when they stated on their web page that all subscriptions had been shipped. That's when I started wondering why I didn't get mine.

 

Better they change their web site saying "all subscribtions have been sent out" that was put up on their web site in the middle of December. Usually when I pay for something I like to get it. I understand that they are a 3 person operation that is why I gave them money. I have friends two hours away from me who have had their mags for two weeks now. Not******ing just saying how part of country still has not seen theirs.

 

Yours are on the way Ron...They should be there by now actually. I even used cardboard in the envelope!

From what the website says now, all subs will be sent out directly from the printers.Probably starting next issue(?) Thats a good thing for us East Coasters. I usually get mine before Cali does!

COOL spike thanks for letting me know. I actually got to see a copy of it from El Palcko in phoenix who came down for Metalshapes BBQ on saturday. Can't wait to get my grubby little hands on. Thanks again spike.

Huh? I don't recall reading that on the subscription card. Must have been in the really, really fine print.

Seriously though, even if the jokers are just doing it for fun they ought to take a little pride in it and at least have someone proof the damn rag. Pathetic editing. The worst.

 

I saw the Email that gregg got from CKD. I was pretty bad. Very unprofessional. If I treated customers that way I would expect to be in business very long.

It was also a bad idea to bad mouth all of us on the HAMB since he is a member here too.

I was looking for a few new mags to advertise in and I must say that CKD is off my list. The mag I'm in now is expensive, but I know it will be out when they say it will and treat me and the readers with respect.

Mine was sitting in the mailbox on Friday. Scaned throught it, but still havent had time to read it.

 

I also have had problems with CKD...I got a subscription for my birthday in MARCH of 2003, and never got one issue, although the subscription was paid in full! When the girl that got me the subscription called them,they gave a lot of excuses etc. When, 3 months later she asked If I had gotten any issues yet, she called back again, and they pretty much told her tough*****. Seems like a*****ty way to run a business. I have not bought the last few issues because of this.

 

okie doke, i hate posting on these, but i will address just a couple of things. first of all, yes!!!!!! we are having and have had in the past a problem with some of the subscriptions. we have tried about 5 different shipping methods over the past 2 years, trying to get this straightened out. we have a new option that we hope will fix it up. i posted it on the site, so that people would know that we are aware of the situation and that we are doing something about it.

2nd, hot rod josh, i never talked***** about this message board. i have been on here for a few years now, and i have met some cool people here, but the whole time i've been here, there has always been a group of dumb****' that would rather stir up some***** talk'n than actually talk about cars. as far as my unprofessional letter to greg, i stand behind what i wrote 100%. i dont know him, but from the e-mail he sent me, he seems like a dumb****.

i think most of the people understand that the magazine is run by a couple of chucko's with full time jobs, that couldnt find their***** with both hands around the magazine industry, but we are doing the best we can and working out the bugs as we go.

once again, yes. we understand that the sub's have had a problem for a while, but we have not just let it go. we have been and still are working on the problem, and that is about all we can do.

 

First off Gregg is my dad. So I take offense to him being called a********.

Second, you must be the one that does the editing in CKD. From the looks of your punctuation, you must be the********.

I stand behind what I wrote. I will never send one dollar in advertising to CKD.

 

Zombie, now that I know you are reading this, thank you for the feature on my car.
I built that thing from scratch and it is cool to see it in print.
I am not that worried about my sub. It will get here when it gets here...
Besides, I bought a bunch of extra's from Spike and they should be here any day now...
And Deyo gave me one of his.
If you feel you are getting to much***** from people, try and see it as a compliment, maybe you are a victim of your own succes...
PS, could you make a little correction in the next issue to get my name spelled right?

Zombie, what happened to me was that I was never notified when my sub was running out. I've been buyin' from a local shop lately. Hope it smooths out soon...

 

I paid for a sub and my email reply said it would cotinue with #9(I still have that reply). Well never got #9 so I bought one at a show. Have not seen #10, I sent HotRodPhotos some money for it. I sent three emails to you guys and never even got a reply.
I have had a sub since #1 never had any problem until now.

 

ron, i can't comment on your e-mails, because i have absolutely nothing to do with the shipping of the product, so when a question comes through regarding a sub, i delete it. thats galos end of things. now if you were some little hottie wanting to pose with a hotrod, then that is my end of things. anyhow, basicaly when we get the mags in from kentucky, galo and his wife stuff all the envelopes and they are shipped off in one batch bulk rate via the u.s. mail. we have tried several different methods through the u.s. post office and had the same results everytime. so now we are having the printer ship out all of the subs with the dealers. we have not had any problems with the dealers receiving the product, other than the occational hang up in customs for the shops over seas. we hope this will take care of this problem. about 85% of the time that we receive an e-mail regarding late delivery, its because either the credit card was declined or the subs ran out. then the problem was, that people didnt know their subs were running out, so we have recently made little renewal cards. anyhow, we hope that with issue #11 our shipping problem will be solved and we can start on the next 6 million things to work out.
