I've read some old post from the early 2000's but still looking for the reliable replacement of the Mallory condensers from "hell". I have a Mallory dual point in my 73 Bronco running a later 5.0. This vehicle only gets driven on nice summer days, very limited use. My issue is I go through Mallory condensers to the point where I have been carrying them in my glove box. Bronco will run fine but than start stumbling, backfire, etc. Swap out the condenser it's fine. I've read on this forum about all the issues with the Mallory condensers but I'd like to find a reliable replacement, other than Mallory, so I can drive with peace of mind. I know somebody out there has had the same issue, what did you do to resolve it? Thanks!

I have successfully used a 0.22 µF 600V axial lead, film capacitor, purchased from an electronics store.

You have to figure out the mounting yourself, but electrically it just needs to connect between the points connection, and ground, and can be located wherever it fits.
