A while back in Northern and Southern Rodder there was an article about a guy who was going to make stretched '27 T roadster bodies. I think part of the name was Stinger something. The project car was called Gelcoat Kid, or similar. Does anyone have a link to the manufacturer website or any info of what became of that? Thanks!

  2. I was thinking so of the current manufacturer's promote this already. Maybe Wescotts?? and Zipper

I think Rod & Custom had a source guide a few months ago about track type roadsters. I will check my book tomorrow and get back to you(working today)...if you don't hear from me in a day or so send me a PM reminder.

  5. I thought they were pretty cool- a little pricey in the complete form..... [IMG]

Dick Williamns at Polyform has a stretched '27 T roadster that's so subtle it's hard to detect that it's been lengthened.

He is at Columbus this weekend, I am just getting his website started. He was at Indy. He is starting to do really well, he has a few to build. www.stingershotrods.com

I am waiting on the pics from him, He has a really quallity product. He is building one now for a big name guy, so that will help him get his product out there. He also did a rendering in Rod and Custom just a few months back, it was bas ass...

Brian Stinger ( Indy artist and car fab dude) and Mike Clark made the roadster kit a few years ago. They built a few cars and Mike Clark (owner of Westend Speed) finally closed his doors. Brian Stinger still does some artist work and is presently working on a killer project car for George Poteet. Lives and work in Greenwood Indiana.
As far as i know the stretched roadster is gone...

  12. I sat in one of the Stinger stretched roadsters a couple of years ago. I am 6'2" tall and although there was more room than a true 26/27 T it was still to tight for me. I have also sat in one of the Shadow Rods XLTs and it is really accomodating. If I had the bucks I would be building one now.

There have been several recent press releases in the car mags about one. Whether you call it a stretched T bucket or shortenend T tub, that's what it looks like. Sorry I don't have a link. Gary

Further, and so sorry. I was thinking of the wrong car, obviously. The stretched T / shorty T tub I was thinking of was from www.wintecfabrication.com just in case someone else is interested. Gary
