Yeah dude we should be able to MIG it. Hell we're professionals!!! Uhhhh....errrr somethin like that!
OK with all these people I dont think we will all fit in my LIL' ass garage. Anyone gotta shop we might consider? I really didn't think I would have quite a large response. hahaha Also what kind of beer? I am thinkin' PBR or Miller hahaha I hate Budweiser
Hummmmmmmm my neighbor might just be up for this..........hes got a 4 car garage.....two wide and four deep (with heat)!!! I think hed totally dig this! Ill get with him...........hes actually a lurker on here....
Sounds good. My dad has a shop to bring friggin tears to your eyes but Thay are living in it until we get done building their house haha
Damn, this might just be a fun deal. BigThree, yeah i know dave. Hes a real cool guy. What kinda car you got?
I've got a 52 plymouth cranbrook, I've just got it running and haven't gotten it out on the road yet.
well if Merge can't get his friends shop we should be able to do it in my garage(24x40) well we can use 1/2 of it, the other 1/2 has my project in it. i have a big ass wire welder(gotta check how much gas i have left in the bottle), an air compressor that will keep up w/anything i've used so far & i can get a couple of propane heaters. let me know if u want to use it......joe
let me know how much the gas is and I will help with that. I have almost every other tool I think we will need. Air tools, etc. but dont let me the only one as I may forget sumtin. This is gonna be sick. Major chop 8" and 3" of window layback. Got some work ahead of us
Hell yeah, I'll help you chop your truck! I live right up the street. I do metal fab and upholstery all day on old cars. I'm sure I can squeeze some time in on the weekend or evenings. You might wanna do a little measuring and planning before chopping it, so it doesn't get too outta hand
Yah i have been laying this thing out for the past day or so. Might want someone elses opinion though. Call me if you wanna stop by and throw your .02cents into the mix (618)795-4736 ask for Jon
I would re-consider the 8" chop. You are a pretty tall guy. My car is chopped 4" and channelled probably 5" and It gets very uncomfortable and Im like 5' 7" Hot Rods arent supposed to be comfortable but it would really blow having a truck that you wouldn't wanna drive.
Dude I got into Nicks car and lets just say I look like a freegin giant in there! I'm 6'2" and its a little tight. But then again my coupe's channeled like 5 inches and I do ok. Me and Tatooedup37 talked last night alot about it. I think the chop would work fine, but I dont know about the channel. Just my opinion though! Lets get this going though and figure out a day to do it! And preferably a day where trees arent falling all over from ice on them and when everyone has power!! Ha ha
I'm around 2hrs away, but I don't drink beer and it sounds like you might need a 'designated grinder' to straighten up the sudsy welding!!!
White hall.....White hall, that sounds familiar. Did i drive through White Hall when i was going to the Jacksonville cruise? Maybe I dunno. I dont drink either. Im underage.
[ This is gonna be sick. Major chop 8" and 3" of window layback. Got some work ahead of us[/quote] I might be able to come down and plowboy would probably be up for the trip also but you might want to rethink your chop. That much chop with a laid back post might look a little funny with a rounded cab, You might want to chop it but add a strip to the cab so the post dont lean back so far, Just a thought. Mel
Take his words like they are coming directly from gods mouth, cus he in fact is a god of hot rodding. Seriously.
OK OK OK so I did some more thinkin' sat in the truck and did some measuring. I think we are lookin' @ 5-6'' and stil 2.5-3" laid back. As far as a date I just got moved to a shift that I work the next 17 days straight 12hrs a day. so it will prolly be after Xmas. I really dont wanna chop this thing the day before Xmas. I think Jan 7-8 would work out much better. Get back @ me Phone # (618)795-4736 Jon
I'm about 2 hrs away, and can weld, assemble, just about anything, but it sounds like youv'e got enough hands in the pot! Anyway, I'd just eat all your food and look at magazines. I'm pretty good at that.
C-DALE Aint no 2 hrs away. I grew up in Herrin, IL. Anyways I aint servin' no food hahahaha only beer. Porkchop in a can, green beans in a bottle. Theres the food, plenty 'O' magazines though.
No kid'n, Herrin? You know any of the Ingersolls? And also, are they the right kind of magazine? Ha ha!
Yeah I knowem. Don't paticularly care for em' but whatever. Small town bullshit. haha. What magazine are u talkin' bout. I grew up with Garret played Baseball for his dad as a kid
I'm underaged too. Nick how come u never informed me that u are a flaming homosexual? Yea Nicks car is a little tight.
Hey I wish I could help out...kinda deployed to Iraq at the moment. I am from Red Bud, Il...but have lived all over the St. Louis area. I am stationed at Rock Island Illinois in the Quad Cities. Good Luck with your car and hope you guys have a great time... However, I would love to 'carry' your beers for you... Dave
I've met Garret, kinda know his dad, Leroy, but I know Leroys' brother Buddy Ingersoll the best. Hes got a couple of pretty cool old mercs, long time drag racer. I was just joking 'bout the mags, look at your avatar. Ha!
