Thanks I will check that out, anybody have any pictures of stock looking A's that are updated driveline wise, 50's 60's look. Thanks
Modify it. Then you will have a car the same as everyone else. Original is the new different. Do you want to be the lone wolf or run in the herd of sheep? Maybe put some period accessories on it to personalize it, then go try and wear it out and have some fun. You'll discover what you'll want to change as the years go by. You might find they are alot of fun the way they are.
You can have the best of both worlds, H&H builds an inserted, counterbalanced Model A motor, that and a high compression head, V8 trans, juice brakes, even a dropped axle and you have a good running A that looks cool. I have one of their motors in my 30 pickup and it's doing great. First built the pickup with a stock bottom end, Winfield Head, Ansen intake Holley 94 and a Mallory dist. Beat the bottom end out of it in several monthe, then built a B motor using same parts and counterbalanced crank, V8 trans, knocked the rod bearings out of it twice in about three years, put in the H&H motor about three years ago and haven't touched it since. Thinking about 3:54 rear gears or a mitchell overdrive for a better top end, 3:78 gears limits you to 50-55 mph without winding the benger pretty tight, overdrive will give you around 70 with no problems, 3:54 puts you around 55-60 range. Best thing is your car won't be like everyone elses. Check out Secrets Of Speed, F.A.S.T (Ford A speed and technology).
