Stock Wheels 1953, I know they are 15's and 4 1/2 on 5, but what is the stock width? and what are you guys running? I am planning on running the chrome reverse style wheels from Wheel Vintiques, any opinions? Thank you for any help in advance.

The stock width is 5". It wasn't til the 60's that 6" wide x 15" were available from the factory.

Thanks guys, am very close to getting the new shoes for my ride, so glad I have a summit in town so I can save shipping. I will call wheel vintiques to see what route is cheeper. Can't wait to get them.

5.5" width, 205/75R15 will fit just fine on stock wheels. 3,600 miles and not problems.

Because of the shallow rear wheel wells in 1952-54 Fords you may run into a clearance problem with a reversed offset wheel. There are some vendors that have addressed that problem by offering flared quarter patch panels for the 52-54 Fords.I have 14" X 6" ET slot mags on my '54 to get them on and off on the rear I rolled the inner flanges and added shock extensions on the rear so the axle would drop enough to get the tire in and out.

The wheels I plan to be running are Wheel Vintiques 64 Series Ford-Chevy Style O.E. Chrome Wheels, I guess in 5" width. I am running 205/75-15. Oh and I don't know where but a learned a little trick for changing the back tires, put a bottle jack between the frame and the leaf spring, and presto changeO! Thank you for all the info.
