I hope that someone will keep us posted with what happens to the thieves that stole the panel.
We should all be mindful about stolen car alerts and keep our eyes peeled for them. It could be your car next.

Way to go, now we still have that pickup truck to find. I wonder if they can get one of the 6 to squeal on the theft operation.

Wow this is such a great story and one of the many reasons I pay up every year Ryan has really hooked us all up and I hope everyone is realising how good we got it on the HAMB I was thinking Hey Ryan how hard would it be to make a section for look outs on stolen cars ?

  11. Sniff.....I love a happy ending! Kudo's to Nick very being very observant and willing to take charge when most people "not Hambers" would just shrug their shoulders and say "It's none of my business." Nick...I salute you!

I hear ya but I have two questions for you.
    1) How do they get stolen cars past the border? Don't they Border Police check out the papers etc if this is such a problem?

    2) So now these Illegals will go to an American jail & we will pay for all 6 of them for the next 2 or 3 years? Or Do they get deported & sent to a Mexican prison?

I will add one more 'good job' on this adventure with the truck and recovery. The end is not always like this

  17. im still wondering if they have someone working on the inside to get the tags, I wonder if anyone will research how many cars have been registered by the thiefs previously. I think there is a bigger scenario possibly not being seen right now.
also, Does anybody in the family know any of the guys? how did they know the truck was there? contractors or lawn maint. on property recently?

    1. The American Border Patrol does not check cars leaving. The Mexican Federales check stuff coming in.

    2. There are hundreds if not thousands of Illegals (I am using your term) currently in the US prison system. Do the crime here, pay here.

If this is more than just 6 thieves working alone (very possible) the Mexican justice system may be willing to shorten any US sentence once the convicted are sent there. They seem to have crowded prisons too.

***Have you ever drivin in to Mexico? I've personally crossed the border countless times and HAVE NEVER ONCE been stopped on my way south. That's why this is such a big deal. We found the fuckers before they could make the cross.***

***First of all none of the crooks have been confirmed as illegal, they are all allegedly on legal papers or are American citizens. Second, even if they were illegal, wouldn't you feel better knowing you chipped in a few cents to keep them here in one of our jails?***

Come on now guys! This is not a racial issue, nor is this a political forum. This is about a stolen vehicle being recovered. Share in the good times! If you can't keep your racial or political comments to yourself please refrain from posting.

That makes sense, I did cross into Canada one time 20 years ago & bought a 57 Chevy 210 handyman. I didn't have to pay any taxes on it coming home because it was an American car. So either you pay no taxes at the border of Mexico or the whole system is corrupt.

Just a quick update. Wish I could give you more info but the whole thing is still under investigation, hence the deletion of my earlier posts. ;) Let's just say that police patrols have definitely gone up in that area. When I get all the juicy details and they are suitable for public consumption I'll be happy to share.

You are right crossing into the U.S. from Canada, no taxes paid at point of entry but you can bet your ass that you will be stopped and you had better have your papers in order for you new purchase or you will not be taking the car home with you. :)

...and that pretty much covers it. If it keeps turning back that direction this thread will just have to be locked down.
