Hot Rods etc. have expensive parts. Hot Rods many times have little or no serial # stampings. Guess what, car gets stolen, stripped, never seen again. Get Lojac or some other anti theft device.

    Totally agree williebill!

We put our blood sweat and for me two good ladies who finally got fed up with my cars, into our projects. Only to have some looser rip it off. You can bet your *** I would beat the **** out of any *** that had eyes on my cars.

Furthermore im glad the press is reporting this, it will make it harder for this looser to sell and make thieves think twice before taking another, on second thought, thieves have no soul, so get out your twelve guage!

On Wednesday, Garden Grove police and Orange County Auto Theft Task Force detectives found the car at an auto body business at 11711 Westminster Ave.
“The vehicle was within the business covered up by sheets and does not appear to be damaged,” police said in a news release.
Detectives arrested one suspect in the case and are continuing their investigation. The name of the person arrested has not been released. The car has been secured at the Garden Grove Police Department.
When police told Slovick that his car had been recovered, “I almost died,” he said from the Garden Grove police station. “These guys, Garden Grove police, are the best.”
Slovick said he was just so thankful for all the folks who saw the story and heard about his plight and helped out or offered support.

Awesome it was found. Sounds like they were about to repaint? Hope the thieves dont just get a slap on the hand.

  14. Great that his car is back but now he should either 1: Call the dude that offered him the 350,000 and sell it to him ,so he no longer looks like an idiot. or 2: Seek counseling for his inability to tell the truth (350,000?)

Good to hear that the car was recovered in one piece. That may be proof that getting the word out quickly and wide spread works too.

He isn't the first guy with an exaggerated value on his car and will be a long way from the last so that isn't really worth hashing over. If he want's to see what it is really worth to others he can run it across the ramp at one of the B-J events and either grin or cry when it's done. Now I hope he keeps the thing more secure than sitting in a trailer in the front yard.

The owner was on the local NBC station in LA 3 nights ago. He put 7 years in building this. He was weeping..according to him, it was all he had... Again not totally HAMB friendly, however ...your theory .....??

you know how many ****ty *** cars that have sat front yards NOT FOR SALE for years because they were worth alot to the owner.
i understand your trying to be funny, you just look like an ***.

Thats Awesome to hear they got it when they did. Being at a body shop i bet it was about it get painted/changed around , and most likely lost forever.

The news said it was found in a Body Shop in Westminster, under some sheets. I bet one of the guys who worked in the shop heard about the reward, haha!
GREAT!!! Now I won't have to hear about the "$250k Ford" anymore....
I was done with that guy, when I was at a car show and they called out his name for "Best Custom",and he accepted the award! WTF! Talk about NO integrity...

    Great news
hope the prosecution of the people responsible is swift and harsh..and i hope the owner of the vehicle gets to know who they were.

Now its time for him to take the security of his pride and joy seriously

and to add...the value of my cars is off the charts too..my blood sweat and tears went into each and everyone of them.
they are an extension of my art and vision.
i also spend alot of my free time working on them , building them and enjoying them.
you cant put a price on that as far as im concerned..so if this guy feels his car is worth that much , who am i to argue?
if he doesnt get what he's asking for it..than thats his own deal to work out..im not going to question it..when i myself own things that i put a personal value on

hey your time is worth something..think of the other things you could have done if this wasnt your "thing"

No one in their right mind would pay 350G's for the 34 let alone 250g's. HOWEVER their are people, or were, that have so much money that that amount is nothing to them. So maybe one of those guys came over from Japan or Jakoffistan and made the offer. Glad he got it back. Seems like a lot of recoveries have been at body shops lately.

I think that body shop is for sale and a HAMB member is thinkin about buyin it?

Seriously (rare for me), I'm happy the guy's car was found. I'm also happy it's getting publicized that it was found so maybe a few politicians can strut their **** and say how they intend to crack down on this type of thing.

I too am glad his car will shortly be returned to the rightful owner. However, to tell the public that you turned down $350,0000 offer for a car that you had $75,000 into
pretty much explaines it all. If I had something worth $350,000, it would not be parked in front of my home in a trailer.

as far as value goes, I bought a 34 three window for $6000, a pile of rusty pieces all cut up. Yesterday I got asked from a fellow HAMBer if I would be interested in selling or trading it off. My reply was "Only if you recently won the lottery"

20k won't buy my shovelhead worth 5k, I'd been offered 10k for my wife's merc when it was probably only worth 5k, get the piucture? Everything maybe for sale but expecting people to sell their pride and joys for fair market value is just plain stupid

glad he got his back, $75,000 and 10 years of his life should have some ****ing value

Police have taken body-shop employee Mehrzad Sangar, 53, into custody for possession of stolen property and are holding him on $20,000 bail. Sangar, of Westminster, is the only suspect in custody at this time.

The news said that he was currently unemployed. If I were him, I would have gotten a hold of that guy that offered him $350,000 and sold it to him. If all is true, that would have been a nice profit in these hard times. That is if someone really did offer him that much.
