Dude, I'm sorry for what happened.

I think you bought that 53 from me! I owned that car awhile back, and sold it to a guy near the Cleveland area.

Small world. I hope it works out for ya.

Here's some info about Plymouths that might come in handy if they switch the vin tags. I had a '50 Plymouth that did not have a vin tag but did have the title. Plymouth stamped the vin number on the frame rail near the drivers side rear wheel. If I remember correctly Plymouth also stamped the same number on the engine if the car still has the original engine in it. I'm not sure how many years they did this. Hope ya nail the bastards!

I hope this is a lesson for all of us if we were to sell our cars. Make sure all is legit no matter what.

CONTACT THE F.B.I. OFFICE NEAREST YOU,...MIGHT BE A RING THEY ARE WATCHING AND MAY INVOLVE YOUR CARS THIEFS...ALSO CONTACT THE TEXAS DEPTARTMENT PUBLIC SAFTEY...(979) 776-3160, COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS OFFICE,..THEY RUN STINGS ALL THE TIME. ALSO TRY THIS: www.FBI.COM

  5. 1. State Route 5 passes through Syracuse, some 25 miles south of Fulton.. the street address is phony, I don't even need to look it up, been using parts of State Route 5 since I learned how to drive. There may be a 3346 State Route 5 but it's nowhere near Fulton NY - and it could be in any of the counties State Route 5 passes through, which is anywhere from Albany to the PA state line near Erie -

    2. Seems like an oddly high PO Box number for Fulton, I've been there, it ain't that big and has had 2-3 major businesses close in the last 10 years. The only connection I can come up with is the former Nestle chocolate plant has been supposedly being re-opened by folks from the Ivory Coast in Africa - the whole thing has seemed like a way to scam the state out of money, they can't pay their power or water bills on time. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some connection - but I wouldn;t be surprised if the two are entirely unrelated, too.

Let me know if you find out anything ZOO ZORK about the numbers...I have a friend who works for Verizon and can do alot with research on the number in the DFW area, well anywhere actually.:D Also lets be careful on what we put in this Thread as we all don't know how the Thief got the info on the car to begin with. He might have been on or seen this H.A.M.B. Site before.

I think I would look in the DFW area, the 13067 area code for Fulton is bogus, the 36042 is Honoraville, Alabama. Both of the telephone numbers show to be in the Grand Prarie, Texas area.

Good catch! The USPS doesn't much care about the address, it uses the zip code. I bet there's a Wesley Davis or Wesley Carter near Honoraville (which really isn't a city it looks like). Here's one:

    Wesley Davis
    Fort Deposit, AL
    36032

    Wesley Carter
    Luverne, AL
    36049

    Wesley Carter (Age 60)
    Brantley, AL
    36009

That's through the https://find.intelius.com/ site. You get more info if you pay.

The only thing in Honoraville is the post office, hmmm... Maybe give them a call and see if they have a box 3301740?? Here's a picture from 2001, I kinda doubt it...

But that's where the title possibly went (before being forwarded maybe).

I'll sure as hell keep my eyes open here plus I drive truck and leaving for parts south 3am monday and I'll be looking then too. Also there are cruise ins in Amsterdam NY I forget which night but that might be something for one of us to get to. lots of car clubs and cruise night all over the state so we can only hope the s.o.b. screws up somehow and we catch the bastard. The only problem besides what already was mentioned is the fact that the car may have been altered even more to try to disguise it. hope the prick dies

I would not be surprised if the asshole has it sitting in a warehouse or garage and will be layin low for a bit before he keeps it covered up to transport again or whatever his plans will be with the car. I just hope he slips and gets what is coming to him. My only question is, why did you wait for some period of time to post this of your car being basically stolen in a scam way that it turned out?

  16. The Fulton, New York ZIP code is fake, I believe that the POST OFFICE will attempt delivery there first and not find the address and kick the title back to you as undeliverable. But the point is that they were not interested in getting the title, they wanted the car and they have it. Wasn't that car for sale on the Bay about a month ago?

Thanks to all here for the help and keeping an eye out. A good guy lost his ride and/or the money.

We all can help. If anyone believes this does not affect them you are way off base. It costs us all in insurance premiums.

You know I been thinking on the same lines. I bet hes in Texas or Mexico.
He didnt need the title in the first place. Hes just gonna swap the VIN tag to one he has already or sell or trade the car off.
I have a friend in Texas thats Former Special Forces, Bounty Hunter and a Private Investigator.
If you want his info you can contact me.
You may have a few things you cant post in public.
If my friend is in the country hes really good at finding people if you can get him on it.

I was just thinking of this today. You know which way he left at all? You could call alot of the local Hotels or motels to see if a man of that scription that you say had checked in anywhere around your area and to give them the description of the truck and trailer that was attached to it. Just a thought and maybe another avenue to check if he did check into any hotels if so. If they come up with someone that matches all that, he could have used a credit card to check in and you can make a run on it. Sounds like a long shot but, worth a try. I would come up with any form of ways to get this asshole.

    FuelFL,

Way sorry, for your friends lost. The buyer should be stung up by his balls. Just for further reverence for everyone ONLY TAKE Paypal or cash for a payment of a car. This is the safest way to take payment!!!!!!!!!

    1. Travelers checks...................Can be forgered
    2. Money Orders.......................Can be forgered
    3. Bank wire.............................Never give out your bank account number, they can wipe your account out
    5. Personnel check....................NEVER
    6. Cash............................................Have a body guard
**Never be in a hurry to sell your ride, be careful and sell your ride your way, if the buyer doesn't like it, tell him to move on.

    Stay Cool

eBay warns heavily against using Western Union, especially to make payments, but also accepting Western Union payments, all the overseas fishing scams I get emailed every day wanting to buy something always want to send me Western Union. I accept cash in person and Paypal.

Nothing ever comes thru Potter, WI but I'll still keep an eye out for the car.
