I know this thread was closed I think because it was found. if not feel free to close this one . but I wanted to let you guys know we got the car back and it was damaged but nothing a body shop and new paint job cant fix. The best part of it was that the guy left a receipt in the car from a gas station. He used his debit card and bought a drink. I went to the gas station and they pulled up the video of that receipt time and we have a very good clip of the guy. right in his face. they cant release the tape or any info but the police are getting all of that stuff in the next few days. This guy was a professional car thief, he had stolen plates in the car and custom made clips to go from the coil to distributor. that way he could pop the clutch then go and cut wires to start it somewhere else. He did run out of gas and then off the road into the desert scratching the crap out of both sides of the car. The car was found only 25miles from the house. thanks for caring and looking out guys. i'll update when we get more info and hopefully an arrest.

I know plenty of people that stop at gas stations and never get gas. Sometimes we just need coffee and smokes. Glad the OP got his ride back
Locking gas cap and no keys??? Glad you got it back. Sometimes I think people overplay the scepticism. Be happy for the guy - he got his car back! Mart.
Maybe he bought gas and a drink. To get the drink he had to go inside to pay for the drink and gas. Then the camera got his picture. maybe
