I hope it is found and in one piece, hopefully it's not headed straight down the 15 freeway to TJ.

Ya know, I don't know if you were aware, but thieves generally aren't too smart.

I could easily travel a distance and send “ my friend “ some long distance correspondence , that he will never hear . 1.08 cents postage . I have no use for some one who steals

On Christmas Day, no less. There’s being a classless, scumbag, waste of skin and hair, and then there is this.

Not that I have any use for thieves (using them for target practice is illegal), but who leaves a nice car (per the posted photo) unattended at a closed public location unsecured? If someone is savey enough to own the businesses listed he has to realize how easy that car is to hot wire and drive off. If not hot wired, simply towed away with a rope. Apparently thieves aren’t the only ones that aren’t very smart. I do hope he gets it back. But seriously would any of you leave your car parked unattended on a slow traffic day and expect it to be there a day or more later?

  17. I'm sure the owner had no idea some lowlife would steal his car unattended, thieves steal cars under lock and key, thinking it in some way is the fault of the owner is inane.

Many a car have been stolen at major car shows, it's not the owners fault. I too hope the car is recovered. HRP

the picture is most likely just a pic he already had. there is no reason to think it was stolen from that spot outside

I've been waiting, since first glance, for anybody else to call it properly.
    Despite paperwork It's a 1956 model.

  20. Exactly. why would you jump on the conclusion that the picture was taken where the vehicle was stolen before said crime happened? Stupid! glad you are not a detective! snoc653.

  21. Maybe this whole story is FB BS?

Chances are that the thief was already familiar with police cars...at least the back seats of them.

Exactly why would you jump to the conclusion that my statement said that is where the car was parked. The photo shows a nice car. If I had to guess where it was parked it would be at the museum as pictures show attention grabbing cars parked outside of it. That location has been in his family at least 50 years and people claim how would he know (or his family since he is gone) what the neighborhood was like? Seriously? People steal stuff from everywhere and everyone. Some people will either pretend to have something stolen or have someone else steal it from them for the insurance money. None of the people drinking the hateraide have said they would be dumb enough to leave their car out like that. In case you missed it in my post, I have no use for thieves. And if it was a stage theft for insurance money it is still a theft. I hope they find it, punish the responsible people, and most importantly learn a lesson.

I cannot believe what thieves will steal. painted like that should make it stick out a little more than just a single color painted one but then I guess if you just paint the doors black it would be harder to find seeing everyone is looking for a 2 tone cop car.

Just have no use for thieves . Ask me for anything , I own , not using it , it belongs to you . Just ask . Someone has worked hard to pay for and / or build the cars and trucks we see , they are not free to be your property .

I caught a person stealing fire wood from me . I was a bit pissed . I told him I have plenty of wood and I would deliver if his family was freezing . He says where’s the free wood , I showed him the pile of cut and not yet split wood . He says “ GD you have plenty split , why not this ? “ I told him “ you forgot I caught you stealing . Now it’s that or leave , peacefully .”

There is a current phenomenon that most people, especially here, seem to be unaware of.

    Steal-to-order.

Wealthy overseas buyers put in orders for things they want. Thieves who deliver them to a port are rewarded handsomely.

I know several people who have had rare vintage motorcycles vanish without a trace, only to have the onboard tracker go live when they were taken out of the container in Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates.

This has been a global phenomenon for more than a decade.
