I rarely teach school anymore, but I’ll make an exception for you. The per the picture comment followed immediately after the nice car. That would link the comment in parentheses to the comment immediately preceding it. It is a qualifier to nice car. Had it been intended to indicate where I felt the car was left it would have followed immediately after the location description. That is how the English language works.

Let me see-I was referring to people who have no right to request favors asking for something special-as in the case of the person caught stealing firewood being given free firewood but wanting it split. You weren't even in the discussion at that point, so why the anger and name calling? Happy Holidays to you.

I was wondering if it was a response to my comment comparing San Bernardino to hell:

I stand by what I said.

He will need to be very patient teaching us Aussies spelling and grammar. Mistreating the King’s English was one of (many) reasons we were transported here 200-odd years ago :D

… wait until he sees how we spell aluminium.

    cheers,

Yes, and I’ve stayed in at least 40 states and 5 countries. I stand by what I said.

Also, nobody calls it “The OC”, and it ranks up there too.

    This.
Hard lesson learned a few years back was the local PDs of neighboring cities didn't communicate.
A car could be stolen in Berkeley and be left in Oakland for weeks and OPD would not know it was stolen. Friends Accord was stolen from Berkeley and had a weeks worth of parking tickets from Oakland PD. He got a notice in the mail and we checked out the street where it was ticketed. Car was gone and a week after that he was notified by an impound lot that they had the car.

    Absolute bullshit.

When pressed hard for why a visibly stolen car was ticketed, the PD stated that none of the local PDs communicate stolen cars to each other.
That did eventually change. To what degree and how effective, who knows.

So if your car is stolen, report it locally, then escalte it up to county and state. Spoke with the local Sheriff(county) and Highway Patrol(state) there were differing opinions, at the time, on how well this would work. Trickle down affect was inform state, it would cover all agencies. But that may take time for it to trickle down and depending on local city systems it might not show up unless specifically looked for. More nonsense.
And AFAIK, you can't inform a neighboring PD directly since the car was not stolen in their city so you couldn't file a report. Things may have changed by now(a hardy HAH! to that).

Are Jake & Elwood on the loose again? That thing has a cop motor, cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks, etc. Probably picked it up cheap at the Police auction. It could be one hell of a car chase when they catch up with it.

This has been going on for longer than one would think with vehicles going to countries with very little documentation needed to get it past customs and in country if Customs ever even checked the container it was in.
On the other hand some thieves just don't have good sense and may steal something that ends up with no value because it is so well known locally.

Then again is the thief or steal to order thief who needs that vehicle as a parts donor. The busted a restoration shop in Oregon a few years ago that was knocking out some pretty nice restored or redone cars and the main reason he could is that he was using parts of seriously nice cars that had been stolen and delivered to his shop or to his dismantling shop.

The dumb ones are usually the ones who get caught and it doesn't sound like these guys were the sharpest tool in the shed. So there is still hope.

I've only been to San Bernardino once and that was driving along Rt 66. We enjoyed seeing a very well preserved Wigwam Motel. What I saw along the route seemed fine but various guide books and fellow travelers advised us not to stay in the area but move on. I didn't/don't have enough experience to judge, but the general feeling was not pro-SB. Hope that has changed.

It was a tongue in cheek joke, based 100% in fact, and he flew of the handle name calling… So I really don’t care what he “appreciates”. He was much more of a jerk than I ever was. I would rather inform non-local hambers about the state of historically significant points of interest in our hobby than worry about the feelings of someone who does not have a grip on reality.

  22. Wake up call again, just to add an apple tag to your old cars even if they're not the greatest just have something in there cause I've seen even projects stolen in here. Cheap insurance and you could track it on your phone. Sometimes some people do two one as a decoy.
Same goes for trailers and campers. pack of 4 is 75.00.

I’m in Iowa. Getting caught makes things illegal. With a chipper shredder and a hog farm it would be hard to get caught. But that is the old me. I’m kinder and gentler now. So I’ll stick with its illegal to shoot thieves. ;)
