Has this been posted on any of the restored Model T websites? I don't know if there is a national club, probably is.

amazing that this has gone high profile..the owner of the stolen t must have good connections or know people..most L.E.A. wouldnt go to this trouble to catch a horse theif..i mean car theif..

I wish it were like the ol' horse and buggy days..were town square hangings of horse theifs were watched by all the towns people...
dam this world has gone soft on personal theift...no wonder it happens so dam much..
no ones doing anything about it.

I read about Michigan adopting the Castle Doctrine in 06..might put some teeth back in helping the good guys regain control of their own property when faced with a threat..

That's great news! Did the punks just dump the car off there, or was the owner of the building in on it? Any other details?

That area is not all that good, either.

I'd say that the car was probably ditched there by the guy who stole the trailer. Even a Model T can somewhat disappear in a parking lot or venue like that for a few days.
Most of the trailer thieves aren't interested in the contents but want the trailer for what it will do for them or to resell.

  20. That's great to hear that he got the car back! Trailers can be easily replaced anytime.

    Great news!!! Wow that's awesome.

  22. Glad to hear that the owner got his pride and joy back. The trailer can be replaced (insurance). The historical+sentimental value the owner had cannot. More details on its recovery would be cool as to facilitate others keeping their rides from disappearing.-Weeks

Glad the car was found! Hopefully the owner had friends in high places and can now get the stupid laws changed. I can't believe a state would not register trailers. Didn't they know they could collect $$ for license?

****, I'd be happy to pay a ten dollar one-time registration on my car hauler - but the State legislators have their heads firmly implanted in their ***es. Ideas that make sense, make no sense to the lawmakers.

Hopefully, we'll see something in the local press about the recovery!!!

    Your wish is my command:

"Effective July 1, 2008, at the option of the owner, noncommercial trailers, such as utility and boat trailers may be registered only (no ***le issued) for an annual fee of $7.00. "

I mean a ONE-time registration fee, not a $7.00 annual extortion fee from the State...although it's better than nothing.
