Is there something back***wards about this or have trailers suddenly increased in value ten fold?

Sorry we hijacked, GLAD THEY FOUND THE T!!!

Enclosed trailers here get spray painted and sold, no numbers, no ***le, no registration, if cash is payed, it never happened. better than high voltage copper for a crack head with a truck

Man, glad to hear it! Hell with the trailer. Let insurance pony up for that. The T was the important thing. I still hope they catch that s***bag and clamp his taint in a vise and use his nuts for a speed bag.

That's no ****! Yet another reason I quit selling utilitys and car trailers. I'd get people wanting to trade in a used trailer on a new one, and of course, no one had paperwork to do***ent their ownership. I refused to take trades unless they had some sort of proof of ownership.

That 16' enclosed trailer is probably on it's way to a pawn shop, paint shop, listed on craigslist, headed out-of-state, or stashed away somewhere.

The important thing is - the guy got his car back in one piece!!! A car like that isn't replaceable. A trailer is reeeeeal easy to replace.

  6. glad to see the ole guys going to get his car back...

friggin trailer will be used to steal more ****...

a guy up here lost a trailer ,and turned up 60 miles from his house. Cops found it while busting a grow operation..
the dumb *** thief was using it as a landscape trailer.

I'd tig weld my damn name on the inside of the frame under that ****er and know good and well they'd never know it's there. Only me and the police would know it's there when we come to get it and identify it.

There used to be a guy locally that had a very well-built 18' open hauler that got stolen. He recovered it, then he got an idea - paint it lime green and paint the wheels different colors - pink, red, orange, and blue - one wheel each color! Never had a problem after that!

One day the car will show up at a car show or an auction with one of us there ! Then when you get you car back TAKE THEM FOR A RIDE ON A ROPE CONNECTED TO THE CAR AND DRAG THE S.O.B DOWN THE ROAD FOR A HOUR OR SO !!
It will show up and you will get it back home where it belongs !

    read the ****ing thread

  11. It seems to me that the enclosed trailers that are stolen seemed to be "plain jane" all one colour trailers..
My theory is ,to put some kind of graphics on it to "personalize" it..the more graphics, the better.

Thieves aren't so eager to steal something that 's all lettered up etc.
To easy to spot once the word is out..

    But thieves will be thieves

I don't know but getting that call letting you know your car has been found and intact. Has to be like waking up from a nightmare. And realizing it was just a dream, and a bad one at that. I couldn't be happier for the gentleman...ghost

Trailers seem to be the big thing to steal around Tulsa. Most of the time the rat*******s just wany the trailer with out any idea if there is something inside it. Has to be some way of locking the wheels or other device to keep them from getting them.

Not that spendy and easy enough to use

Similar units should be available just about anywhere.
Even a junk trailer ball with the shank cut off and a padlock on the handle should keep a trailer more secure.

(Herman Campbell gets car back, online article)

    http://newsok.com/recovery-of-stole...iness-for-oklahoma-city-owner/article/3341794

The car, built from scratch by Campbell in the 1940s, was found in "excellent” condition Thursday behind the Diamond Ballroom at 8001 S Eastern, a few miles from where it was stolen.
Campbell, 87, was visiting the doctor Thursday when he received the news, said Doris Coshow, a friend and neighbor from whose residence the car was taken on Jan. 18.

"He’s one happy young man,” she said. "He talks about it like a child.”
She said police called her about 3:30 p.m. to report the discovery, and her husband immediately went to recover the car. Coshow said the car had apparently been behind the building for a few days.

About 6 p.m., police found the trailer at SW 119 and Rockwell Avenue, southwest of Will Rogers World Airport, she said. Her husband and Herman Campbell’s grandson recovered it Thursday night.
Coshow said that as each day p***ed without word from police, her hopes of a recovery began to diminish. "I started getting really down about it. I thought, ‘If they haven’t found it by now, they probably never will,’” Coshow said.

(Radio this morning reports no arrests have been made)

The T has been recovered. It was found behind a local nightclub and Mr Campbell Recovered it on Thursday. The trailer was found in a seperate location and returned also. What a great ending to this story. Thanks really needs to go to our local paper, The Oklahoman for giving the story so much exposure, and probably forcing the loser to aboandon the T and trailer.

  20. Yep, it helps to have a good local paper that supports the community and the fact that thier friend Fred Thompson( another T owner ) son is the publiser of the Daily Oklahoman also, nice card to pullout in times like these of theft! Fred is right in the middle of a rebuild on his Touring car in thier shop right now.

as an okie I'm proud of the media on this one, they dont usually give a damn about auto related news unless its the usual kids spinning out of control in a honda and gettin killed and then they were prolly drag racing . but this time they stayed on it and had interviews with the owner and his wife and articles in the papers etc, congrats old T dude. glad for ya

  25. Yeah, last year several teens were injured in "BIG STREET RACE"!!! Two jack***es in thier beater honda cars(not even "RICERS") and the rest get a bad name! Not that street racing is legal, but you don't hear very often of the real stuff involved with accidents which are always a risk so these days I go to the strip to be legal.

  26. It's great to hear a good ending to this story, and good news for a change. Hope they catch the SOB now.

Car AND trailer were recovered - the trailer was just a few blocks from where the old man lives, from what I've heard. Some jack*** tweeker, I'd bet money.
