I have already given up trying to get anyone to make grammatical sense, or to stop outright making up words.

How about the folks who consistently spell the name of their car wrong? I find this to be pretty common across the range, but it is especially bad on some late model rides, where the name can be found, spelled correctly, on the fender. Even the press gets it wrong. How hard is it? Read STUPID!

Google Camero and see what you get.

Wow, really quite the pompous, know it all, jerk, aren't ya. When I was 14 and heard "350 with a cam" I thought, "all cars have cams, that's dumb". Then a guy told me that I was being simple minded and to understand that the statement referred to a "high performance" cam.

Likewise if I tell someone I put a stall converter in the car, I am referring to a torque converter with a higher stall rpm.

Also, I find it hard to believe that a "senior member" on a site geared towards this subject material would find 1/2, 3/4, and Full Race Cam terminology to be meaningless. Terminology like this should never be lost, as it goes towards defining the very soul of the hobby.

Maybe you are a painter. Or a sheet metal guru. Maybe you just dont know **** from shinola about how a car works. I'm not gonna get down on you, if you have one of those talents, because they are important, and I certainly don't have that talent.

But when you yell back at the guys building engines that do know what those terms mean, (like the comment about the member in the cam business) then you just prove yourself a self important tool. In other words: "what you know is all that's worth knowing"

From now on, every guy on this board that builds engines should only expect full detailed terminology from you. If i see you post "I put a 4200rpm stall converter in the car" then I will expect you to edit that out and replace it with " I installed a torque converter with a flashstall rpm rating of approximately 4200rpm." You may also choose to state brakestall rpms if you wish.

Oh and God help you if you ever post about a "flatty".. cuz um yeah, since there is more than one type of flatty, your rules must mean that someone telling you they have a flatty gives you ZERO information about their ride. Read between the lines. Recognising subtlety is an indication of intelligence and wisdom. Being a tool, well, isn't.
