Well, the 3 speed toploader tranny in the Ford is leaking a bit where the gear box connects to the tailhousing. I've sprayed it with brake cleaner and wiped it off well and GOOPED on FormAgasket, but it still has a small leak. Are there any other half assed tips that won't require taking this tranny out?

You could try adding a quart or two of Lucas' Oil Stabilizer.... It does wonders on leaks, not sure how it works, probably don't want to know either. I used thier ATF additive and it really slowed a front seal leak.

I've always heard that sawdust + oil = spontaneous combustion. I guess there isn't any air in there for it to burn, though.

Sawdust makes them shift and drivre waaaayyyyy smoother, but it doesn't last very long. Haven't you ever seen that episode of "The Andy Grifith Show" were Barney buys a shoe box ford and the tranny is fulla sawdust and the steering column comes out like a snake? I wouldn't use saw dust use something else.
