25 bucks for a race setup 6-71....... No wonder she didn't want to offer those locomotives to yer cheap-***
There is more than one someone else... but I am not fortunate enough (pronounced rich enough) to own any PFM motive power. Model trains are my second obsession, although right now that part of my life is on hold -- at least until I finish the 47.
I'm in that same boat , PFM's a little pricey for me ---so I scratch build my own br***. Four Climax geared locos, a Pacific( used a Thornbough construction article in some 1950s Model Railroader mags) a Mikado,an Allageheny & A Shay.
I worked with Tom Hoover -- AKA the father of the Chrysler 426 Hemi" -- for a couple years and we shared the train bug too. Daily we alternated conversation between Model Railroads and Mopar cars -- his days at Chrysler, his current projects, and my current projects. It was an awesome time in my life. Before he retired and moved back to PA, I went to his house a couple of times to help him work on his 57 Desoto, and I got to see his awesome N scale setup. Fond memories for me. Meeting the entire original Ramchargers team was not all that bad either!
