Here is my Thickston "dog bone" with glass bowl holley 1904s that I picked up here on the HAMB. I can't wait to get it on my 235.
It looks like all the 216 Thickstuns were painted red when new? I lucked into the Hollywood Deep Tone when the PO was trying to grind on it enough to fit a '60 El Camino ... traded a split manifold to him for it. Anyone have a D&S for a 235 ? The one I had was a real strong, smooth performer with Rochester model Bs, .100 off the head, Crawford dual point converted GMC full mechanical dist., headers & Gotha intake rockers. Here's one for the McGurk owners - how many other colors besides pinkish maroon & blue did they paint them? Seems like I saw a green GMC somewhere.
Here is a shot of the Harper with 3x2 Holleys. It's on my AD truck. I've fired the motor to know that it "works" and hope to be driving down to Mokan in a couple of weeks with it.
Check out this obscure add-on intake. Came as a kit complete with modded head.... http://www.museumofamericanspeed.com/Collections/Engines/E033.shtml
I have a few more.Thats edelbrock McGurk Fenton not sure Most of the manifolds seem to sell for around $200.00 on auctions. The more common show up regularly.
I must be the ONLY person that actually likes the Carter W-1 carbs...I should start a Carter Orphanage...

I once had a Nicson "volumetric". It was a single barrel intake that looked like an early attempt at a dual plane inline intake, but had no provision for heat, which I found strange--anyone running a one barrel carb would probably want a heated manifold.
No beef with the Carters here. Hudson saw fit to usem on the Twin-H Hornets. I've never had an issue withem, other than they will ice up a little on the outside of the base after extended highway miles. But since this is a stovebolt thread I'll show ya the Edelbrock on my brothers 38 216, W/B&B carbs. And maybe you stovebolt guys can help me out here. I put this together for my brother like 20 yrs. ago and modded some linkage to work which he has lost. This rear exhaust manifold dump is directly in line with were the stock linkage would go from the pedal to the bellcrank on the side of the block. Anybody got a good fix for this? Pics would help. I'm actually trying to talk him in to swapping in one of the Jimmy 302's I got from an old open wheeled dirt track racer in Ohio. Pop-up pistons, aluminum flywheels, and all kinds of interesting bits including a new McGurk 5 carb intake thats never been on a motor. Exhaust in the way of throttle rod...
That rear exhaust casting is interesting. Fenton sold the same casting in the late '50s for use with the front half of the stock manifold. It still had the "820" cast on it, but no "Grand".
X - Where perse, did all your pics come from? I ask 'cause the Tat 3rd row, 2nd pic is setting in my garage now. I covet my Tattersfield.
I try to watch the sale boards and if I see another intake, copying the photo is easy and a resource for those interested as to what is or was available.I'm amazed at how many manifolds manufacturers produced performance parts for the stovebolt.
I got an email from a friend asking me if I'd ever seen a "Multipower" manifold. He states it looked like a water heated Edmunds. any-one know anything about these manifolds?
hello everybody,I am brand new to the board.I love this thread,it's freakin awesome! Here's some pic's of a 216 I am putting together.I am further along on the engine, just need to get my camera back and I will snap some new pic's. The engine is bone stock internally but has original Fenton headers that have been porcelainized. The intake is an Edmund's 2x1 w/ NOS Carter W1's.The rocker cover is also an Edmund's. Here is the car it belongs to.
