I done a search already and couldn't find my answer, just that it's a weight savings from a straight axle swap. Generally speaking how much are we talking here? Has anyone actually reweighed their car after a swap from independant suspension . I'm talking more of a g***er deal where the whole front frame clip is removed for say 2 x 4 tubing and parallel leaf springs. I'm thinking of using a 47-54 chevy truck axle and springs in my 55. Thanks, Bill

I am using a chrome moly axle in my falcon, My old suspension weighed around 150 lbs, The chrome moly axle weighs about 50 with the coil overs.

Thanks, anyone else? If anything i'm guessing minimal because of what I'll be using for a front end? I want to shed at least a few hundred pounds off the car if possible.

If you cut the stock frame at the firewall and lose the original crossmember, you will lose a lot of weight.BBT.
