There is one for sale just like that by my house for $3500, probably about $1800 more than it's worth. I was thinking of doing the same thing, so it sounds like a kickass idea to me!
NOOOOOOO!!!! I dig it the way it is, man. is it a hard top? How come nobody ever rolls down the rear windows, of hard tops, for pics?
Don't be a boring turd just do it! I've seen the cars the Greazy Hubcaps drive and know you can make it happen. You've got five weeks to get it done till the HAMB drags!
hmmmm...looks like I'm in the minority here, yet again. Not that it pertains to your current "dilema", but, I think it would look cool with dumps tubes as well, and run the exhaust out the back. Now...back to all the "just do it" comments....
[ QUOTE ] - [/ QUOTE ] nice photochop... I vote yes. nail exactly how you are going to do and with what parts before you start cutting
Put a straight axel under it. Love those straight axel cars, my next project is going to be a straight axel car.
Don't freak out about the steering hookup. You can build a column out of the original that will hook up to whatever box you use. I've done it, so I know you can too. All it takes is a saw, a grinder, and a bearing from your local bearing supply (5 bucks or so).
My God...he's really gonna DO it...he's headed...HERE: <img src=http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/image_uploads/413618-vondun.JPG>
