Maybe kit car body from early 50's? LaDawri (sp), etc. Also kind of resembles a Peerless at first look.

  4. I agree, a Victress c-2 coupe.

  11. That's really cool. Way better styled than most of these things. The C3 shown looks a lot wider than the bare body.

  13. I like it,I noticed it's not cut for a rear glass so a larger rear glass would be cool. HRP

Are you going to buy it? I was a big fan of the fiberglass kit car in the late '50s and for at least a decade thereafter. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I was too young and broke and had no serious tools and no garage at the time! :(

But the IDEA of building one of these little beauties into a real car was oh so appealing. It is still is somewhat appealing and I now have most of what I lacked back then. But I have also gained some experience and insight and now realize the enormous work it would take to stuff that tasty pastry shell to make a real automobile. But, maybe if............:)

That one is still in the raw fiberglass but looks like it spent it's live indoors since it popped out of the mold. I think originally they gave you a list of what windshield, back light and door glass you needed but what you see sitting there is what you got and you built the car from there. Not a true kit car as we know them now by any stretch of the imagination.

  18. Where does it make you itch, right now I am itching in my nether regions. :D :D

I absolutely hate to admit this but I really want it. I already have an A that I cannot afford to build but I still really want it.

Gasser is correct but built along the lines if the mustang that the MALCO Brothers and Ohio George campaigned. Maybe with a more obsolete mill and tranny because I have one that needs a home. :D Or built in a road race chassis like a Shelby Cobra. Maybe with a small block Cobra mill or a tunnel port.

Damn it my mind is racing now, somebody call me so I can talk and separate this from the dozen other things that are running around in there today. :(

Very cool body by the way and if I had not read about it earlier in the thread I would have said that it is a '60s kit body. I guess the original being '59 isn't far off.

1600 OBO written on the body.

Is it fresh out of a surviving mold? The casting looks shiny and new, not 55 years old.
To trim it out with glass, opening doors, hood will be a LOT of work. Open canvas for a grille (early Vette, 55 Chevy egg crate).

Drop it on a vintage chassis to escape smog inspections and you could drop your choice of powerplant in it... Though it would be tempting to buy a totaled late model Supercar or Vette at auction and drop this body on it.

  23. I can see glass being a real problem seeing as how I have no idea what it was built to use. ;)

Doors would be a headach, but it does give you the option of gull wings doesn't it. at the very least let the doors open into the top to make it easier for an old coot to get in and out.:D
