Buddie...you're working too hard to establish your credibility and intelligence with little or no evidence of either being presented in any of your amateurish offerings. I get the idea you spend a lot of time texting, where lack of appropriate and meaningful punctuation is not required when trading missives with your cohorts that think "like" and "you know" are substantial parts of the English language. I would suggest that while few of us in here are in the genius category, and probably less are communication majors, you try composing sentence that stands on it's own - you know...subject/predicate...all the stuff they covered a few years ago while you were doodling Rube Goldberg timing gear constructions on the back of your PeeChee folder.

Your idea may have some merit, but your feeble use of the idiom of the realm fails to provide us with any clues as to just where you're trying to go.

Based on your last entry, in a juvenile effort to defend your nonsense, I'd guess that you're probably just another AOL car chat denizen....desperate for some recognition.

How about you sit down....finish your Lucky Charms....monitor the zeitgeist of this forum, and leave the "Big People" alone until you acquire a few more skills.

The problem might be that now we can't figure out the strange chevy cam removal procedure anymore perhaps... ;)

  13. I'm trying to figure out what you have to gain by going to a Gilmer timing belt drive on the street?

As for the mathematician you require, you can dispense of the use of highly educated personnel by use of an idler pulley.

And just so's this post is not a total waste, here's a new pic for Mr. Hemi.

I did use stock Lotus cam drive wheels to drive my external oil and fuel pumps. lots cheaper than buying new from Burnes or Hilborn. The wheels and belts I have seen are either 3/8 or 1/2 inch pitch regardless of manufacture. Except for the newer rounder metric tooth belts of course. Belts of many different lenths are sold by industrial supply dealers, again much cheaper than Hilborn or automotive aftermarket.

This is the ultimate stoner thread.

Starts as confusion the turns comedic and ends with donuts.

Tho Buddieboy was a bit on the lunatic fringe, I think I understand his cam removal procedure...

Remove the timing chain from the engine completely, and drive it till the valves are all bent. Then machine a hole in the back of the block so you can pull it out of it's own *** when you remove the flywheel... Pretty simple actually.

  21. Yeah . . . and our cops drag race in the streets.:p

Right downtown, the Chief of Police and the Head Sheriff....:cool:

  22. I used to know a Stoner who quit.

I asked him how he did it.

He said, "The gr*** wasn't a problem, I couldn't afford the munchies anymore."

  23. Anyhow, I'm beginning to suspect that BuddiBoy, Piston Broke and another guy - who shall go nameless for now - that enters tech threads, makes a short terse statement and never comes back.

I think they all live under the same bridge....

I'm trying to patent a quick change camshaft system along these lines, but it only works with automatic transmissions.

You have a rubber one way flap on the timing cover, and at the rear cam plug. Place the new cam against the timing flap, rev the engine real hard, and hammer the new camshaft in.

Here's what I figger will happen. Ever dropped a chevy cam? They're real brittle and break easy. The holes in an automatic trans flexplate ought to act like a wood chipper and spit the old cam into the dust cover as it's hammered out the back. Remove dust cover and dump the shavings. Done.

Granted you can't reuse the old cam, but they're all flat anyway. Think of the tuning implications of such a system.

so that's my idea. And I'm stickin to it.

  25. Geez, and I thought you were about to resurrect the Forked Lifter idea....

    Hmmmmm....

I was thinkin' more along the lines of a camshaft with rubber lobes.

Good manners at idle & low end.

The tighter you wind it, the wilder it gets!

    Simple!

(Uh .... p*** the donuts, please.)

You laugh... I was in a parking lot late one night/early one morning when the new Chevy "bubble" Caprices came out and I saw one square off against a Crown Vic at the stop light. The Chevy won, for the record....
