We went to the shop today and decided to put all the body panels on the lakester to see what It'll more or less look like. It would have been nice to roll it outside for a photo, but there's so much goddam snow that nothing is gonna move in or out for the forseeable future. Here's a couple shots of what Steve calls a "Pig in lipstick" The body still needs a bit more work, but most of the systems are complete. The chutes, the brakes, fire systems and steering are all done. We are pretty sure we'll make it to the salt this year. If you want to follow the whole build, It's here: http://kaparich.homestead.com/Bellytank.html
Very nice, Chaz...I guess you got that "metal beating" down pretty good! What's your plans for it...colors? Logos? etc. What's it running for a driveline?
Yeah, Chopolds, With your advice I was able to save the rear metal. THANK YOU! Its gonna be a pretty mild Chevy smallblock this first year while we shake everything out. Then we're going for monster HP. We are thinking maybe orange with the Strange Days lettering and logo on the side,That way it'll match our shop/push truck
Very cool...Love the lakesters and streamliners...Gawd, I wish I lived closer to the lakes or flats...
Hay Chaz - as a former Zoo dweller , the wall in your shop looks familiar - Where is your shop? ( If you dont mind me asking ) - Ja**
The shop is about 4 miles east of Missoula in West Riverside. We built the little shops to hold the pedal cars and as a lunchroom, Check the Garage Journal and there was a section n the Strange Days shop
Looks fast standing still! I consider it satisfactory (LOL that sleeve line always gets comments when I wear the Strange Days shirt! ) So stoked to hear you'll make it to the salt this year. Seems like you guys really got your act (and a plan ) together to take on the salt.
