I attended the ecology swap meet last saturday. There were a hand full of rods there. My question is can a 6'5 person be behind the wheel of a duce roadster comfortably or is it as crammed as it looks.

  2. If you work the panel above the decklid and/or slide the seat inder it.

What is comfortable to you may not be to someone else .
You should fit just fine .

  4. Find several folks with 32s and ask for a ride in them, ask to sit in them. Take notes as to how they are set up.

    Yes, :)
I am 6 foot 2 inches tall and I weighed 325 pounds when this photo was taken ( January of 2007 ).

My bottom seat cushion is lowered about 2 inches and the backrest is moved back about 2 inches. I drive it 400/500 miles at a time ... and I am comfortable. I also have a GM van tilt steering column. It allows easier access into the roadster. If you are not overweight ... you should have no problems thata little creative seat fixing cannot cure :D

    4" firewall recess.

Mid 90's ChryCo middle two passenger seat.

Home-made seat brackets with bolts for manual adjustment in the bracket mounting holes.
    2" left to go rearward.

    Very comfortable.

    31 A on 32 rails.

My 32 roadster has a thick seat back, therefore less legroom, but it ain't bad.
My 6'7" friend has driven the car and did ok.
Part of that may be simply that he's used to being crowded.

Seat low as Deuce did, thin seat back cushion like I should have done or use a seat that can go part way back under the sail panel. (Panel between cockpit and trunk lid.)

    Should be plenty comfortable.

My 31 and 32 have 2" chopped 32 style windshields and I think Deuce's roadster is the same.

    from Yakima WA.

The 20's and early 30's cars didn't have the room that the later cars did. Most of them had very thick seats that could be cut down, which would give more room, either with newer hi-density foam or a thinner seat.
