how cool is that! ill bet theres a truckload of mods done to model Ts that have been lost to time. i did a school project on model Ts wen i was 10 and another a few years later on prohibition. that helped kick off the sickness. grandma duck (model Ts) cars and al capone, what a combination for a young man!
There's a pretty good chance that he did as he built his car in 1030 an the golden submarine was built or first raced in 1017. I'm pretty sure I saw those photos of that T many years ago though as it looks all too familiar.
Thanks for posting the photos & link. Just think how much nicer that car would look underslung. Someone could photoshop it I'm sure with it sitting 6-8 inches lower.
I'm guessing the tail was made with wood, or like aircraft with tubing and doped canvas. Looks cool either way.
You've never seen an issue of Celt Rodder? Mostly British stuff with all the magic knowlege needed to keep smoke inside the wires.
Coolness! Even though guys didn't have either the knowledge or money to build speed parts, they wanted to go faster. Trying to cheat the wind was the first and still most important step.
Interestingly i had posted this a few days earlier on the Landracing site. Coincidence? I was trying to get feedback from some oldtimers in regards to the gearbox mod. Cool car.
Hey 41 Dave, I'm actually looking for a cheap running T and Chev gearbox so I can build a body and see if this ol' soup job can really run 75mph. If it's successful then it would make a great towcar although the little banger might be straining with all 7 gears and a reduction in torque. Kurtis
