  10. Hate to admit it, but as a child of the 60s-70s-80s, I like street freaks. Especially this one. But I'm off drugs now...

Oddball Kustoms did just that. I might do it if I were more money than brains rich and had a second Merc.

  14. Someday I want to do a "period correct" 70s car; tacky as Hell, air shocks, white letter tires, Kraco stereo, etc.

  15. I couldnt find a nice kraco..so I went with a K-mart 8-track.It woulda had T/A radial RWLs only the 295/60-15s were on national backorder

Paris Fish's Corvette always impressed me as the prototype street freak. It and Gary Kollofski's '55 were the subject of many a teenage daydream. Well, that and a brunette named Debbie...

That would be cool. maybe. Now that I think about it there is a guy around here that has an early 70's Firebird with mags and 60 series tires, jacked up in the rear with air shocks and shackles, mud flaps, side pipes, rear window slats and cb antena on the trunk. Him and the car never left the era but he seems content as the rest of us driving our particular era- specific cars.

I wouldn't call that a freak, just a COOL 70's Hot Rod. Some Candy Lace, Scales and Freak drops and you'll be ready for the 1972 World of Wheels!

I had a 62 Corvair on a shortened 57 Chevy frame and a 55 Chevy pickup front straight axle 283 3 speed. Rather well built car back in 1972 Will see if I can find a pic.

I've admired this '57 for a while. Reminds me of many of the modified cars I saw as a kid in the early/mid '60s. I don't remember ever seeing street-driven cars at that time that were jacked up to the extent that some of these others are...except on bubble-gum cards. Maybe that's why I like this one...somewhat less "freakish"...but still a bad-ass. Then again, I lived a sheltered young life...maybe I wasn't exposed to the right places to see street-freaks. I think those came a little bit later though too.
