The 58 Pontiac seemed to have some of the lighter cars covered in a couple of those runs. Lots of oil smoke on some cars too. LOL (cropdusters)
thanks....pretty cool stuff....right on the 58 Poncho....lots of 63 FOMOCO....and you can see the shifting with the front ends.....did a Ramcharger sneak in there....?
Man, that Pocono vid with the sound is Awesome. Not too often do the vids from this era have the actual sounds. That white roadster carrying the front wheels!; lighting off that altered! Great stuff for sure. Thanks! The OT stuff is great too (my traditional doesn't end at '65, but don't tell anybody
Very cool, didn't look like the cops were too concerned. It's amazing how slow the cars were and how fast we thought they were!
Sure brings back memories seeing the 58 Pontiac. I had one with a 389 then pretty well considering it's weight. Jimbo
ya gotta love the starters... great video... and the return road is one lane over from the race strip.. terrific stuff. just like it was.. thanks for posting
Cool! My first trip to a strip ( Detroit Dragway ) was in the backseat of a new 58 Bonneville that belonged to my friends Dad. I was about 11 at the time. Thanks for the memories.
Eckles Road is in Livonia, a western suburb, but at least the two frames with the police car were not filmed in Livonia, look at the door markings. Detroit Police. For the unfamiliar, Detroit's borders do not touch Livonia. I'm going to have to look at that building's sign on the right side to see if I can ID the logo. By the area I am assuming that this was taken on the west side as that area had open areas vs. the east, north, and southwest sides.
