Got a '35 Chevy with basically skins for doors. Can't figure out exactly what to "search" for so I'm hoping you guys can post your pics of building steel inner structure or point me to a thread you think would be helpful. Thanks
Well you could modify junkyard doors or look for truck doors in a similar era . Build the outer diameter out of sheet metal and form the perimeter in tubing then take the used door innards, fab and adjust to make it work to your situation. Or ... keep looking and run an ad in the want ads . Lots of work but since you have the outer skin helps a great deal. Maybe get some measurements from a known vehicle from the same year(s). Join the social forum on here for the Chevys and wood group . May be the wrong name but close .
IIRC, those are wood frames and are probably rotted away. You can make new frames from either wood or metal depending on which way you want to go. Built or restored.
