Mike at Snyder Street Rods in Hastings NE.is getting back on the stretched deuce roadster. I stopped by today and he had the body on the frame and shining like the bare metal roadster we just sold. Andy's Restoration did an outstanding job of stretching the p***enger compartment and doors 2.25 inches, looks factory and should make getting in and out easier and the extra legroom will be welcome. Not an original idea, I followed Henry at Steadfast when he did his. Mike will fit all the sheet metal, prep and paint then ***emble everything for the final time. I'm fortunate to have the talent available to help do my last couple cars. Goal is for myself and a friend (combined age 167) to hopefully drive this last roadster the 3600 mile round trip to the 60th LARS next year? In these pictures you can see how Andy shortened the quarters, stretched the doors, the outer door skin was stretched by adding to the rear of the doors, the shortened upper deck panel and re rolled the front door corners into the cowl like a 35/6 roadster. The side view looks like nothings changed. More coming.
Frank Curries was extended also I like his idea. There was a fibergl*** one for a time the Dearborn Duece I believe. It even had a lift pocket behind the seating area…. I didn’t think much of it. Yes please post photos if you can of the body in steel!
