Hi all, Since I have done almost nothing on the 48 Ford Coe, I thought the reasonable thing to do was buy another Coe.LOL I have bought a 53 GMC rollback on a 1 ton? Chev frame,454/400, with an aluminum rollback bed. My plans are to try and stretch the cab. My question is, am I locked into a GM COE for parts, or are some AD parts usable? Such as cab, doors, roof, etc. I realize the doors are different at the bottom. Are the fenders and hood different than Chev? I have a lot of questions, and no, I haven't taken any pics yet, but it does run, and I drove it about 50 miles home, without breaking down!

I would guess from the middle of the doors on back is the same as a pickup. Some front parts may interchange.......I dunno as I am a Ford guy!

Pretty sure the cab is basically the same. Except the door cutouts for the fenders of course. So you can use a reg truck cab or suburban/panel for the stretch as you thought. Just measure your cab and the check a reg cab to see and verify.

On my 49 Ford COE I used a reg cab for the splice pieces when I chopped my COE. On the Fords the cab is the same except the fender cutout.
