Does anyone have a good source for high quality white cotton Stroker caps? I used to buy them from a couple fine old gents that had a mens clothing store downtown for 50 years. The old boys have both passed and their store has been run by a worthless son-in-law that don't give a shit. He's going out of business now so that option is no longer available. I still have a few, but they are getting pretty dingy and some of the stitching is coming apart from long use. Also, apparently, my brain is getting a bit larger from all the extra information I've been storing in there since I've gotten older and stopped drinking thereby increasing the diameter of my head and making the caps a bit too small. I'm sure it's not from having more hair, lol. All I can find now are foreign made cheapos with plastic pin strip adjusters and plastic sweat bands. Being cheaply built doesn't mean the pricing is cheap. I haven't looked recently, but about a year ago I couldn't find anything I liked locally or on the internet. Seems they are called golfer caps, snap caps, news boy caps and a few others that I don't remember now. Prefer without logos or patches. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I don't know but a question on this board is sure to get the answer. http://www.thefedoralounge.com/forumdisplay.php?3-Hats
Before the revamp of the HAMB website, there was an ad in the classifieds, and I boght one there, good quality, but the ad is gone now. Last one I got I bought on Amazon.com and used "golf cap" as a search name.
Amazon.com is the place! I researched for 8 years (!) including asking Jay Ohrberg (Mr. Roadster) about them. (Jay had 'Mr. Roadster' logoed Stroker caps in his catalog for a few years, prior to selling the name to Speedy Bill) Mr. Roadster caps were heavy, and fit well...but that logo made them 'less than unique'. There are California caps made by a popular company that are cheap: $7.50, but are small and flimsy, I have a few of them to wear in the roadster when #1 son comes over... Suddenly! Amazon.com has the BRONER line...they are advertised as:'Newsboy Caps'; Scroll down, they are in rows of 3. Third row, (9th pic) "Linen 8 panel Apple Jack Newsboy Cap Gatsby Hat" (10-1/2" diameter, heavy linen, with satin lining. Two different qualities offered, lined with satin, $44., but worth it. (#71-538) Also available on the same search, under 'Broner caps', not lined, $23? Around there...Broner is located in San Diego, so Ca. fellows pay tax. I got mine last week, guys walk up and ask about my F100...then, "Where can I get a cap like that?" Stroker lives on...
For the price you could easily give these a try. http://www.beltoutlet.com/dp2k.html...2&cadevice=c&gclid=CLTD95_Tj8UCFWlo7Aodm1QAdQ
