    I’m no Rocket Scientist but I’m quite certain that the 97 is too much for a 60, even a warmed over 60, on the street. Without question, I would install an 81 with stock jets and PV. Get it running right with the 81. Then, if you feel you need to tinker with a 97 then at least you will have a performance base line.

    I think it’s the resistor plug wires. My sedan which also uses a Ford distributor had resistor wires for a year or so and I was getting some poor performance. Replaced them a couple weeks ago with solid core and made a drastic improvement.
