Stromberg 97 quick question

Im sure that someone on the HAMB can help me out. How do you remove the choke shaft from the top body of a Stromberg 97? I'm sure I can figure it out but do not want to damage anything. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

 

It loos like it should slide out after you take the plate out.I'm looking at a 94 Though

 

There's a "****on" on the shaft end that looks like a thumb tack.

A little gentle prying with a small screwdriver should get it out.
