Hey guys how goes it! Drummed up this cool little Stromberg ignition condenser and am struggling to find out more info on it. Trying to find out the years for them and if it is just a six volt item or if works 12 volt too, and if anyone actually ever ran them. Would be fun to install and run just for cool factor. So help a young gun out and let me know if you got on info on this little pup.
    Thanks gang

Since it goes in the secondary side of the ignition, I doubt it matters what the primary side voltage is. It would be neat to see a bigger picture, right side up :)

its in beautiful condition. Looks like it's probably better as "art" than for putting on an engine.

  5. Probably an early radio interference suppression gizmo. Give it a shot - it may just work!

Thats almost where I'm at its in so nice a shape and the boys too, just may use it for shows just cus'

  7. Looks like one of those "hot spark intensifier" gizmos that they used to advertise in the back pages of Popular Mechanics, etc. Probably just a spark gap inside. Neat display item, tho.

See if there is resisted continuity between in and out or if there is zero connection.
This looks likely to be to old to be a radio interference supressor, and if it isn't that it is likely a simple gap as Rich says. Idea is that if spark has to jump a big gap to get to the little gap at spark plug, the extra voltage will be good for performance-economy-whatever the ad says.
If supressor, likely a resistance device.
"Condenser" in name...could it actually contain a condenser/capacitor?? Stromberg certainly made lots of those for its radios and stuff. Could a condenser of some sort be used as a secondary store-and shoot voltage enhancer OR as a way of absorbing ignition noise? I have no idea. I've only seen them in primary circuitry.
