Hot Rods Stu hilborn

    Just wondering is he still with us? I saw him a few years ago at art chrisman christmas party and man hes was still going. He was born in 1917 crazy. So that makes him 95. I was lucky enuff to talk to him he was friends with jack calori. They raced at el mirage together. Ruler. And im lucky enuff to have a pic of his car in my jack calori photo album. Ill post a pic.     As far as I know he is alive and hopefully well.

    He was featured in the series on Velocity network last year called "Hotrod...an American Icon" Some funny stories, afew precious memories, and alot invalueable knowledge/insight into the origins of hotrodding. Cool to see guys like; Alex, Bill Hines, and Stu, still kickin' down the road. IMO everything they say and do should be chronicled.

    I totally agree. And, there are guys in our own neighborhoods that were there, and we should be searching them out. We should be getting the history of the regions all over America while they are still with us.

    Don't forget to add Joe Bailon into that "hall of fame".... I met him a cpl years ago at the San Francisco Rod and Custom show. Last I knew, he was still in Auburn Calif.

    I believe Stu Hilborn was born in Western Canada. Hopefully still alive and well somewhere.
     
  7. I met him at his shop while down in Californa, when I told him I was from Canada, he told me he was born in Manitoba, Canada.

    Here's hoping he's still doing well!
