Yep. Similar and would wok the same way. Tightening it against the end of the axle/spindle puts the load exerted on the end of the spindle, not the threads which might distort
I was thinking of bearing splitters as well. Come from behind and pull off of spindle. I’d apply a little more pressure each day as to try to do this as gently as possible. Maybe with pressure, whacking the tire will break it free.
The wheels are going on a altered for some 300' racing so is the tank. I'm not trying to get them off to fund the T. I'm trying to get them off to put them on a injected SBC bantam body altered. The tank has alreadyv been removed along with the magneto and all the good stuff that sticky fingers might grab. While it's out side for awhile. Nothing wrong with the front suspension or axle no reason to sell it. When I getv around to redoing the car it will be reused . It will get brakes and all that then. That T was a pretty fast ride back in the day saw more strip time than street. I'll mill the spindels away if I must but I'll try to build a puller to get some pressure on the wheels first . Thinking of putting a tube over the spindel to shield the rim and applying some heat directly to the race. The fact winter is setting in may mean they don't get messed with this year. Been soaking in Kroil for a few weeks now .
Maybe just a needle scaler and some good penetrating oil.....That would vibrate the old bearing and help the oil work....
