Technical Stuck throttle

Ok, I think I'm slowly starting to catch up to you guys. I was looking at my before and after pics and I'm starting to see what you fast idle guys are talking about. The choke linkage going to the fast idle cam is backwards or 180 out. The choke works and doesn't seem to get into any binds it just doesn't move the fast idle cam. I'll look into it thanks!

I sent my carb off to get new throttle bushings and of course the throttle linkage was tight and not moving around at all and the carb guy didn't think it needed bushings but he would go threw it for me.
The engine was up to temp when I first checked for play and I'm wondering if it loosens up after it heats up and then it "shrinks" up when it at ambient temp, does that sound right?

 

Different carburetors have different tolerances. The Carter tolerance is greater than Holley or Rochester because of the large aluminum lower casting. Also, if you check the length of bearing surface on the Carter, you will find it much greater than Holley or Rochester. If the tolerance is too tight when cold, the shaft will bind up due to the different coefficients of linear expansion for the dissimilar metals.
