Hey Scott! Long time no speak.. How're you doing? Jeff (Here's a pic of Scott and his crew from the Syracuse nostalgia drags from a couple three years ago...) Say Cheese!
Hey, my Dad and I have a 59 silver hawk. It is a great ride, hope you find one, you'd love it! The turismo's don't do much for me, but the hawks are great looking cars.
Me and My grandpa "attastude" are really big fans of studes, my grandpa has a sbc 350 chevy powered 52 studebaker post champion. very rare! the original motor kicked it a couple months ago. but my grandpa gave the motor to another studebaker fan, so it's in good hands! Go Studes!!!!
Update...still driving the 53 coupe, been lowered a bit..48 coupe is still running but un-finished gas tank,brakes,wires,etc..51 coupe still sits, may sell the 259 I had planned for it..gave away a 62 Lark 4D to a deserving fellow..traded off the 63 Wagonaire and some other cars for my 29 and my 34 Pkup, part of that trade included a 289 with Paxton SC and Edelbrock dress-up stuff, might go in the 29A might go in the 51 coupe..also got a really nice 71 Avanti II...A 50s half-ton Pickup would round off the Studebaker affliction nicely...
it does look that way, don't it? But i guess when i took a picture of a picture it got distorted......in a cool way!! The body is actually stock.

We are about to finish my wife's 64 Stude' Wagonaire that just needs a Mustang II Front Clip to get it on the road. We'd tried a 5th Avenue Clip but the steering binds and doesn't have a tight turning circle so it has to go. The Stude' now has a 5.7 Hemi & 5-Speed Auto from a 2005 Dodge P/U with a 4.11 posi 9-Inch Ford Rear. We had it on the road for a test last week and other than the steering problem it ran good!
Be sure to check out and sign up/post on the Studebaker social group too guys. We need to keep up the action on there. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=178
I ran this one at Bonneville and El Mirage. Its undergoing a frame off and hope to have it out at the World Finals...
My dad still has his 60' VIII Lark hardtop. He bought it in the early - mid 70's and at one stage it ran deep dish steelies with 10" of rubber under the back! Consequently the rear guards have been pumped and would take a bit of work to bring back to stock. It's been sitting in a shed on the family farm for over 30 years. I'm not sure what we will do with it really.
Here's a Sedan Delivery from New Zealand. The guy built it out of a sedan. More info on it here http://www.v8.co.nz/articles/1950-studebaker-delivery-the-stude-dude-51
