Is that a Hurst four speed shifter on a T86 3-speed? That's unusual. Good shifter. Infinitely better than the usual 3-speed shifters. Did Hurst make a 3-speed version of the Compe***ion Plus, or is that a 4 spd shift? I see that's a pre-62 engine. If it still has the Delco distributor as it appears to have, do not let anyone talk you into getting one of the later "performance" (HA!) Prestolite distributors or the electronic conversions on one. If you want to go to electronic, do it with the much much better built Delco distributor as the base. If someone has already retro-fitted a Presto dist, dump it and find a Delco to start with. With even a new Presto, the timing control is terrible, the spark ****ter is awful, and parts are sloppy. Bad design. Even a well worn Delco is almost always dead-on accurate and stable. That translates to extra horsepower, and some better mileage.
yes its a 4 speed shifter on a 3 speed gearbox with overdrive. Dont know much about engine or gearbox yet. Will try to get some info on it but it will take a week or so. Are going on vaccation tomorrow...
motor looks good dude, way cleaner than mine. Thanks for the info dare-to-be-different, how fast does that lark go?
