I yanked the cab off the stock ch***is yesterday evening & dropped it in place on the Chevy LUV ch***is. The ch***is was stretched 10" to match the Stude's wheelbase. Next on the agenda is fabbing cab mounts. BTW- I'm using a LUV ch***is because I had it & it was free- and it has a torsion bar front suspension. The frame is fully boxed, too.
Looking good. The LUV is a good ch***is(about the only good part on a LUV!) While your building the mounts, I'd go ahead and channel the cab a bit. I ended up channeling mine after a year. These trucks look good real low.
Did you just have the luv ch***is or the body too. If you have any body pieces left i need some for my luv.
I knows its a gold chainer and not the same body style as your Stude. but a very kool ride. My buddies about to blow it apart and start painting, but he's been having so much damn fun with it he hates to have to!
Its sitting about as low as I'm gonna go. Mocked up a front fender this evening & I'm pleased w/ the height. The cab is somewhat channeled already, actually. The LUV frame is only about 4" tall, & the stock frame was about 7" tall under the cab. Plus I will be keeping the running boards on mine, so that will help it look a little lower. Sorry, the LUV's cab & bed were junk. I live on the Texas coast, and the salt air did alot of damage. The guy I got it from had stripped everything but the sheetmetal for his Willys project. Try www.luvtruck.com Always lots of LUV stuff in their cl***ifieds.
