Is kirk winning?

 

I'm 5th in the 1960s category, but the top five of the whole thing look more in line with what they should be. Not the stock '96 Caprice that was winning.

 

looks more like a who's got the most buddys to stuff the ballot box contest than anything else. the couple catagories I looked at the top guys had thousands of votes, then in fell off to like a couple hundred.

that plus the fact that the high vote getter in KIRK!s cl*** was that yellow mustang with the rice burner wing on the trunk.

 

I too think it is pretty funny how the first couple of cars winning throughout the cl***es are in the thousands and then it dwindles into the hundreds. . But I glad to see that My car did as well as it had in the 1930's category.

 

You'd be wrong on that statement. I didn't vote at all and the only reason I entered my cars was because of the plea from Ryan to get cars for this contest his friend was puting on for Texaco.

 

I did this thing last year. It was like going to the local car show. Just a bunch of voters/judges who don't understand what a custom is and how much work goes in them. Just a bunch of muscle cars and tri-fives winning.

but stuffing a ballot or asking people to vote for you,,is the same as walking around and asking for people to vote for you at a car show...

This is interesting, I received an email today that my convert was selected as the 40's era winner. I, like most others from the HAMB that entered, did so at Ryan's prodding, so I thought what the hell as I never enter anything and always wonder why I never win anything.

What's shocking or interesting is that with one day to go I was in third, thousands of points behind the leader in the era, so I wrote it off. Well, I either had 200-300 close friends on the HAMB vote for convert at the last minute (which I guess is conceivable) or it was stuffed on my behalf.

I am supposed to get a package overnighted to my attention this week.

Wow, I happened to go back to the Texaco site. I didn't read any of the drama going on in the personal posts regarding the any of the vehicles (including mine) until now.

Looks like an on-line "show" is just like the local car show scene Now I remember why I don't like to go to them!

 

Congrats, your car is one of the few that actually deserved to win.

 

Any HAMBers put their car on this year?

I got an invitation but thought it was pretty stupid last year with all the people begging for votes.
