I constantly find fabs and repairs I've done on my cars and can't remember how I then found the info I needed, that I now need to fix or repeat.

ummm,,, maybe I can find the Aracept?

    Have Fun

Usually after cleaning. When I was fabricating brackets for the truck I searched everywhere for a pair that would work. I finally ended up going to the salvage yard down the street and after hours of searching I ended up making my own as usual. After the project was done and the garage was getting back in order I found a box with brackets in it that matched the ones I made to a tee. It was sittin in plain sight under my blasting cabinet the whole time. I still don't know where they came from or how they got there.LB

  3. Don't worry about it too much until you start finding entire vehicles you didn't remember having.

I find shit all the time also, shit I don;t need when I am looking for the shit I do need.

I then give up and go buy the shit I needed.

Months later I then find the shit I was originally looking for while looking for the shit I didn't need in the first place that I cannot now find.

  5. No doubt about it, I've got too much shit!!! I found a nice pair of Cragar 5 spokes in my shed that I have never seen before.......I also have a lot of stuff I can't find. Kinda evens out I guess.

Yep I keep finding stuff I never bought, mainly because SHE bought them and it's always nothing I can use, unless I'm straining paint or need a new polishing cloth.

I'm with Banana on the "moving" thing. I plan on moving in a few months and started cleaning out 1 room and found all kinds of shit. Good & bad.

  17. I had been working on my house hot and heavy maybe 20 years ago. I come across a radiator cover I had never seen before. I go into the house with it, no match to it and none were missing, so I throw it out. Figured it came out of the junk the PO left me.

I get a call a week or so later from my brother in law, seems that he left it there to strip and paint, it came off a radiator in his apartment. Have I seen it? Shitttttt.... I wound up making him another one from sheet aluminum and some expanded metal that looked good when done.

I found a few things stashed last weekend; spent all day looking for a ball joint spanner/pickle fork that I forgot I had loaded out, *sigh*. Finding stuff beats looking for something you forgot you loaned out/sold/gave away when you REALLY need it.

If you mow your lawn and find an old car......... you might be a redneck!

I lose shit, more than I find shit.

I just helped my dad move he has been a die hard ford man his whole life other than a short stint with mustangs his real love was always mid 50s Fords . His new palce has a big pole barn but moving out of his old place the basement, attics, shed, cupboards, shelves, closets were full of stuff . We found stuff he forgot he had stuff we needed searched to buy & had just bought lesser parts because we couldnt find anything else and was holding up projects. Some parts had come with parts cars or bought at swap meets knowing they are hard to find (only helps when you remember you have them). Some are given by buddies who know we are so into them. It boggles my mind how it accumulates. He is by know means a hoarder or pack rat but we spent days emptying out parts . I recently helped a widow with her husbands estate his was full also he was a hot rodder turned lakes racer / bonneville racer who later got into drag racing in the early 60s . His place was full of early speed parts rare hard to find stuff .She wanted me find people to buy the stuff I didnt want to send in the vultures on her. Nobody in her family knew what it was or was worth . A local auctioneer had made a radiculous offer on everything just before I showed up . Make sure some one knows what you have . When he knew he was sick he labeled some rare stuff thank god but we still spent days and days researching what he had just so we could sell it off.

I lost like $20 in my pants and then a week later, I found $20 in my pants. How crazy is that? :D

No, I understand what you mean. I just moved and I am unpacking my house and I keep finding lots of sentemental stuff I thought I lost. Just goofy shit mostly.

well porknbeaner you got me to thinking. with all this shit i have what happened to all the shit i need.i have a couple engines i dont remember bringing home. thats the biggest things but ive got shit load of small things i dont remember bring home. but ive spent the last few yrs looking for shit i do remember having but cant find.like done small block chevy i rebuilt and pushed off in the corner. now i cant find that dam,n corner.you really want to have some fun? i had a bad bike wreck in 05 and ended up crippled and with brain damage. seems i cant remember very much. i go out to the shop to do something to a project only to find ive already done it. or thinkingi already done it only to find out i have even touched it yet. i also have trouble with time seems i cant tell a week from a month.ill be taklking to some one and say like i havent seen you in a few months and tell them what we talked about. then they inform me that that was just last week. my life is full of suprises now days.!!

  26. Exactly.

Here is a funny one, in the '70s I sold a Big Block MOPAR to a fella for his Dodge pickup. I had a pair of solid mounts that I had made for another car that would work perfect on his stock rubber isolaters so I gave them to him.

A last spring I got under my bench to snag a pair of steel lowering blocks I made a couple of years ago for a C-10. I was goung to cut them up to make perches for my Hurst mount in my stude. Low and behold there lay those mounts for the B/RB. They are perfect for the perches in the stude.

Now bear in mind since the time I gave those to the fella in the '70s I have lived on my bike for 7 years, moved several times lived out of the country and lost everything more than once.

I am not complaining mind you but how on earth did those old mounts get under my bench?:D:D

Benno, do I really have the be the one to break the news to you? ;) haha

I don't find things, but I lose them. Just the other day I unloaded a big aluminum FE intake manifold from the bed of the truck. Set it down in the shop, did some other stuff, then started looking around frantically for the intake because I thought that it might have been stolen out of the bed while my truck was parked at my girlfriends house overnight. I actually convinced myself that I didn't unload it less than an hour ago and it was just a brain fart. I started to get mad, then I looked to the left and there it was.

  28. Happens all the time here when you have too much stuff and CRS. Was in the basement the other day cleaning up and found a box full of various NOS Gabriel shocks. I vaguely remember getting them back in the 70's "for future use". Don't remember what they fit now. These days, as soon as I get something I label what its for. It just means the wife will have to work a little harder to get her inheritance.

  29. That happens to me as well. It always freaks me out. I have my grandaughter around to help me with the miss placed stuff any more.

It was way worse when my little brother was still alive. Sometimes when we lived close together I would unload things at his place and be sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that I unloaded them at my place. To this day I am no so sure that he didn't come by and get stuff while I was asleep just to screw with me.

  30. I wish that would happen to me!
