What tool do I need to remove the drain plugs on the rear diff? They are a odd size. They are smaller then a 3/8 and larger then a 1/4.

All drain plugs that I have removed were 3/8. Sure it just isn't filled with dirt/grease?

I've got a old set of pipe plug sockets that belonged to my granddad but I never use them,my ratchet and a extension does the job. HRP

Do you have the original rear end in the car? If it's been replaced with a late model, it's posible it's metric. Most of my drivetrain is metric.

Hehe, I'm on the oposite side of that. Mine is imperial original and I had to carve my own tools for the dif and shift box in order to change fluids..
