Let me preface this by saying, ya, it's a stupid question, but you guys/gals are in the know on this stuff, i'm used to muscle cars. i bumbled across a 27 t coupe today. looks to have been sitting for 40 years or so [best estimate considering the 'sinkage' rate] inside a 3/4 barn.

naturally, the top is gone, as well as the interior, but it looks to have all the glass in place, what's left of the visor, all fenders/boards and bumpers. hood sides/top inside car, might be missing rad. and grille shell, front lights etc. [he says he may have them], and the motor is MIA, rest of drive train is in tact and on original frame/wheels etc.

passenger side looks real good, minimal rot in rear 'wheel well' bottom, fenders slightly tweaked in spots, but no holes that i saw.

drivers side may be a tad worse [stashed next to a T snowmobile, tight quarters, and a ton of stuff piled around], looks like the drivers door has some lower issues, and possibly some rot just in front of the drivers side rear fender. rear 'tail pan' under the deck lid is shot also.

at this point i have no pic's, but i am also out of my depth here, used to dealing with chevelles and camaro's and the like, shit i know about, this car looks pretty solid metal-wise, and what i could see of the frame looked good too.

fella is supposed to drag it out of the barn this weekend so i can get a good look at it, and said his final price will depend on what the wood in it looks like once outside and HE can get a better look at it.

granted, without pic's it's a crap shoot, but he was talking @3k for it. it peaked my interest, and it's pretty much in my 'back yard' location-wise.

    so what ya think?

SERIOUSLY! I want first stot at the T Snowmobile! Does the T coupe have wire wheels? If the bumpers are Ford factory accessories those two features add a lot to the value. Check the condition of the trunk lid, does it have a Stop light vs a tail light? You can eBay a lot of stuff you may not want on a rod and recoupe some funds. PHOTOS will help us put a number on it.

I bought just a body that sounds to be in worse shape than you are talking about. I paid $650 just for the body about 4 years ago. T stuff does not bring much on e bay but smetimes you get lucky. So there is a way to recoupe fome of your money.

Take a look at the back window frame. If it is wood it is a '26, metal frame is a '27. Thats what I was told anyways.

  5. $500 is about as high as I would go. I paid between 1-200 each for several T coupes, sedans and my touring

Tman, gotta remember i live in the rust belt, so any decent metal brings higher money, no matter what the vintage. plus, it's like 5 minutes from my house [really cuts down on shipping costs]. i found it while stopping to look at a '29 pontiac 2 door sedan that was on the front lawn.

    Tman,

I'm a buyer for the front half of a '26-'27 Touring in that price range. Keep me in mind if you find one & don't want it. ;)
