Stupid question about tyres

    I want to fit some Firestone 750x16's, the tyres are not the same on either side, one side has a raised (half inch wide) ridge, the other is much smoother.
    So here comes the daft question, which is the ouside??? Never used 750's before so not sure if there's a right way, wrong way, traditional way....or a really doesn't matter way. Answers on a post card to.... :)<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

  3. The raised ridge is probably to collect scuff marks from the curb so that would be the outside. Same on old Michelins.Turn it to the inside if you like.

    if there is an embossed DOT code on the sidewall, that's supposed to go to the inside. Previous references to the rib feature are correct - it's supposed to contact the curb first and save a bit of the sidewall appearance in doing so.
