Soo, I get a new Android phone and want to get my HAMB working on it. Go to log in and can't remember my old p***word - I stay logged in all the time on my laptop and my old Android phone, so why remember it? But to reset the p***word I have to first put up my old p***word? Last p***word I could find was from 2014, and when I enter that it's no help (and I've been on here since 2008). Ryan, what's the work-around here? What am I missing? (and a sincere 'thank you' for moving it to an appropriate place - I couldn't find it in the pull-down list I was looking at)

Does a box not come up when you try and log in that says if you have forgotten your p***word click here?

How did you post this question if you're not logged on?

Good point, I clicked on the name and an ‘08 start date came up.

I was using my laptop, which runs Windows 10, has access and logged in to the HAMB all the time, to try and change it. I kept getting a window asking for my username AND old p***word (the one that I couldn't find) - not sure if that's a Windows thing or something archaic in the system. I actually had to use 3 devices-my new Android phone (Samsung g23), my 5-year-old Android phone (Motorola g3), and my 4-year-old laptop - to finally get the p***word changed.

For those who are new-tech challenged and don't have kids or grandkids to help, here's what I ended up doing (well, at least what I remember without do***enting each painful step):

1st-On my new phone, I finally figured out I had to get to a screen that would let me select "Log In", hit the three-square thing at the top right corner to get the "Reset p***word" (?) ****on to show, then after I selected it, up came a window to enter my username. Once entered, I could hit a ****on to have a link sent to my email address that would take me to a window to reset my p***word.

Mind you, at this point my new phone isn't set up yet to get emails from the account that I have registered on the HAMB (another story I won't bore everyone with). So...

2nd-I went to my 5-year-old Android phone to open my email program and found the automated message selecting the link in the message. The link took me to a page that had the HAMB logo upper center, address for the Jalopy Journal at the bottom, and nothing to select to change my p***word! I went through this process two times with the same dead-end results.

3rd-Back to my laptop I went, got to my emails, found two emails with the reset link, selected the most recent one, and Voila! Got to a window on the HAMB to change my p***word without having to enter my old one, which I didn't have in the first place. P***word was changed successfully.

4th-Went back to my new phone, found the login window, entered my username and new p***word, and FINALLY got into the HAMB on my new phone!!!

Now, hopefully, I can save the login info and not have to go through all this again. Next challenge - getting the 52-59 Ford Social Group I'm a member of to show up on my new phone. (Follow-up - got it done, just don't remember how I did it though)

So... your new phone was running Pertronix and you had to go back to points and condenser. ;):D

More like going from Pertronix 1 to Pertronix 3. Or "trying to build a mnemonics device from bear skins and stone knives."
