They put a step in it to make the car sit lower... do a search here, there are some really good explainations/graphics about that... Jay
Cool thanks Jay... is it the same as notching the frame? I guess Speedy didn't know the answer either... hehe
Basically, the framerail is cut and spliced back together in a Z shape. It allows a car to sit lower and retain full travel of the stock suspension. Check out this link on Mart's site: http://www.tomspages.freeserve.co.uk/pop/pop4/pop4.htm It gives a step by step example of how it's done.
Heeeyy thanks man... that really hit the spot. I just had no idea how to do the Z like that. That looks way easier than I thought. BP
actually its real meaning came from= there once was a real hot dog rodder named dave zeek who lived in jersey and they called him z for short, he was the quy that everyone went to to lower their rods and any other welding they needed so when it had the frame kicked up they called it zd when z did it , he died and the word zd kept on whenever the frame had that same modification. his half brothers name was jim torquenoft and every time he got pissed and pealed out they would say look at that torque go and the twisting and bending became Known as torque from then on and eventually became the measurement of force .
