I saw the "suedest" suede car ever when I was in the Army at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri in 1975. We had finally gotten through basic training, and were now in our AIT phase. We had a bit more freedom now, and one of the guys decided to buy a car from the local used car lot. One weekend, I came out of the barracks, and noticed a bunch of the fellas "admiring" this guys new aquisition...a 1959 Cadillac 2-door hardtop...and the body was completely covered in purple felt! It was actually quite "well done" with no wrinkles, and of course very unique...but I was not "swayed". LOL.
I remember seeing several flocked suede cars in the late Seventies. One that I saw was one of the Barris Batman cars (at least it was billed as being an original from the TV series...not sure I believe it) at the World of Wheels.
