Suggestions........For Posters......

Discussion in 'Questions & Suggestions' started by INVISIBLEKID, Oct 28, 2018.

  1. I'm all cool with information, and idea's....... Pictures are a plus+, BUT= I'de like to see what YOU are doing, and not lifting every single picture of said topic off the web. I think we are all capable of searching for ourselves......
Seem's to be a lil cloudy with all the cut and paste going on now.........
Can we just stick to members stuff? I know there are other related pic's, but- post them if they are helping someone out, not because you lifted them from the web, and the fit in the title topic.
Just because you can- does it mean you should? and, - can you contribute? Or- are you just posting....?
I for myself want real tried and tribulations about such. Not so much a picture of someone who isn't here, or lifted from some site.....Savy?

  2. Something got lost in translation? o_O HRP

  3. All I'm saying is that= Let's see a widget..... Or what ever, I'de like to see what your working on =IF it pertains. Not EVERY incarnation lifted from the web. I'de like to stick to HAMBERS stuff. I can search all I want, and find images........
Some lift pics and post, but- are we a community, or are we just open to whatever?
We all can hit the search button at anytime........
I'de hope we're a lil closer, and can possibly share info, instead of random pics from parts unknown.......
Just seeing that some here post a lot with lifted pics.................. No background/info. I would like tried and true even though I might not have that make/model. I still get to learn.

  4. I understand.

...Without descriptive text this is unworthy as it has no connection to the Hamb?...

I believe it does...see the primer on the Mild Custom..."Nobody drove cars without shiny paint"...its said around here alot...no text but is says something right...

I do offer descriptive text and connections but many times none is offered...just a brief Credit to the Photographer, Owner to respect their timeless contribution to history dead or not.

Yes I do a fair amount of historic sourcing to help paint a picture of the history we are celebrating here...not to mention it offers visual reference to what is fitting here and often debated...such as period detail.

You evidently have a problem with this or perhaps I have misunderstood what you are conveying which is entirely possible from my end...

You are not the only one who has voiced this as unworthy, waste of bandwidth or useless filler. I am saddened when members feel this way as it truly is history we are celebrating here.

I would say this content sidekicks with all the other varied threads making this site what it is...

By the way intermingled with all those historic Hotrod/Custom/Race related photos are Hambers rides with links to their builds.

I disagree text must follow the pics as there is a saying you know its right when you see it.

Actually many members do not source/search out content posted and many voice appreciation for the pictorial content...

I many times post questions regarding the photos I post...many times no replies...dunno.

I see worth in Hamb related content descriptive text or not...

At first I thought WTF.....then thought well I do understand the part about rapid firing ,my term for what I believe your bitchn about, the posting subject and sometimes sort of ..kind of ...maybe or maybe not close to the threads subject.....my self all of my pictures and things that I post come from my own collection of magazine's ,books, and what ever else and I have a pretty good memory of what I have read or stumbled across in my stuff and when ever I see a thread that is on a subject and fits the requirements I then take a picture with my tablet edit the picture if there is info to go with it I then ad some of that and sometimes if I have the complete back ground story or article on said subject and it's not too many pages I will post the complete article or offer it to anyone through a PM......alot of the cars or other subject matters I will not put any info with it because in my eyes the car or subject is so popular ,in its day, that I figured everyone or most would know about it or have run across a picture or story or something and that I was maybe just providing a different view or other info on the subject that maybe would be different from what other people have seen or read....that's the way I learned about hot rods and whats what in the auto related world ...just seeing a picture or something on a car of interest would get me wanting to learn more so if I can just post at leased a picture of something to go along with a thread subject I figure that maybe it will help a person get more interested in the subject and go after it ...and now days with what is available to search with and if they truly are a carburetor head ,that's what I was called in school,it should be easy to do....but it still amazes me how many guys are hot rodders or car guys in general and are clueless on subjects or terminology or fads ,trends or other things like how to even work on a car or drive ,race ,or what ever ...with what is available today everyone getting into the car thing should be able to do or know anything or every thing about the subject past or present....well there are guys out there that do know everything...well they know alot then there's the one's that do know everything and he will be the first one to tell you that they know everything.... anyways all this probably has nothing to do with the thread.....so I will not post any pictures to further confuse anyone.....just saying....
